    Super awesome castle to visit. It is built mostly like a traditional defence castle, but it was really a posh fancy show-off castle for the rich dudes who built it (Marquess of Bute and others after). The listening tour is great and has lots of historical facts but not too overboard. We were there for about 2 hours in total. The views from the castle of Cardiff and the bay are to die for too!

    Absolutely magical place, especially in autumn. The castle rises out of the woods like something from a storybook, surrounded by golden and crimson leaves. The setting feels peaceful and other-worldly — perfect for a quiet walk or photos. Inside, the castle is beautifully restored, full of rich Victorian Gothic detail and colour. Each room is full of character and imagination. The climb up the turrets gives lovely views through the trees across the valley. The surrounding forest trails are stunning this time of year, carpets of leaves, soft light through the trees, and that crisp autumn air. Easy to spend a couple of hours just wandering and soaking it all in. Parking is easy, and staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

    Dont miss the opportunity to visit this hidden gem. Definitely have the Audio guide thats included in the very reasonable ticket price. I have deliberately not shared my photos of the internals as these are amazing to see and should remain a surprise until your visit. Particuarly lovely to visit in the Autumn with all the surrounding trees.

    This castle was going through renovations due to leak noted in their last survey. Lovely rooms in a romantic fairy tail way, it includes aspects of bygone days. There are not many rooms, but the rooms that you do see are beautiful and detailed.

    We didn’t get inside since it was closed, but just walking around the exterior of Castell Coch was amazing. The castle looks like it jumped right out of a storybook, with its turrets and detailed stonework. The grounds are lovely to stroll, and the views from around the castle are great too. Definitely worth a visit, even if you can only admire it from outside.

    Had a lovely few hours here. I took my 3 Yr old and he loved exploring a "real" castle and he loved and found it interesting learning about each room. We also visited the tea room which was a pleasant surprise. Had a pot of tea for £3 which consisted of about 6 cups of tea and my son a child's hot chocolate. All decent prices. Highly recommend

    Lovely small castle, well maintained. We paid around £8 per adult, £5 per child (5 +), free car park and audio guides . Quite few steps and no accessibility, so not recommended for elderly, disable and babies. Worth a visit , we had a great time inside and outside the castle (picnic)

    This is an architectural masterpiece located in the Welsh Mountains and truly a jewel of the UK. Originally a Medieval castle this was rebuilt at great expense by Lord Bute and designed in a Gothic style. As with his other projects this has an incredible attention to detail. The rooms are decorated with incredible luxury for the time and they still look stunning even today. There are several floors to explore including bed chamber, drawing room and library. You can even check out the cellar or dungeon. You get a free audio tour with the ticket and it gives a lot of useful information. As you'd expect it is a great photo opportunity too.

    I love this place ! On my doorstep and I never get fed up of visiting it! Most beautiful fairytale castle hustled between the forest and trees in the most tranquil serene settings. I love history and this castle is a perfect example of ours. Stunning. Easy to find ample car parking 3 lots of car parks Disabled parking Can also have picnic on grass and do the forest treks It's not a massive castle but it's definatly worth a visit just for its beauty and to go in the rooms to see and feel how they lived in our past Always 5 stars for me .

    Lovely castle with beautiful rooms. Quite a few steps up and down so not ideal for tiny humans or elderly. There are toilets, gift shop, large carpark. Kids loved the audio guides too. Can highly recommend!
