“Me and my little one attend turtle tots class in health hospital pool every week. We can’t recommend it enough. He absolutely loves it and has grown so much confidence in matter of weeks. He is only just two and is already able to swim which is crazy and this is all due to his amazing teacher Ceri-Anne.”
“We have just returned from a weeks stay at this superb B&B. We have stayed in many guest houses but have never felt quite at home as much as we did here. Tony and Jane are the perfect hosts, in fact, we felt like we had known them for years, they are so friendly and easy to talk to. The house is stunning inside and out and is immaculate. Our room was spacious with a relaxing view over the park. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend. Wayne and Brenda”
“If you get a chance to go here, then do it. So much fun with my three friends. Easy to find, loads of parking, clean facilities and equipment. They had everything you would need bar swimwear. Great safety introduction and prep before the activity. The facilities were incredible. There was plenty of time to enjoy the rapids. We weren't around 5-6 times. The guy who took us out and looked after us was a top bloke from Australia (sadly I can't remember his name) but he was great, we had so much fun and he really got involved with our silly, immature girly nature's. He was encouraging but also respectful of individuals limitations. Thank you so much. Stacey”
“Very nice park flower beds were fantastic”
“The village surrounding the castle is beautiful, and lovely to walk through on the way to the castle including the secret garden ran by the castle gardener. Just be aware there are some rather steep slopes to walk up. There are a few cafes that do cream tea outside the castle and also museums and shops. Once actually in the castle grounds there are also lots of slopes to walk up and down to access different areas. There is lots of information about the castle and how it came to be what it is today and also some original features. The views from the castle are wonderful and can see for miles. There is parking for the castle and also other parking nearby if needed. There is a watermill that is still operating which they use to make flour, you can also buy this in the shop as well as other local produce.”
“A beautiful tree lined Park, rose garden, boating pond, kids wet play area and seasonal planting. A calm oasis. And a lovely Parkrun every Saturday.”
“Beautiful country park. Lots to do and see. Visitors centre has a cafe and is dog friendly.”
“A lovely walk around the grounds, the weather was not good but somewhere I'd come back to and visit , in the spring/summer months”
“Our favourite place to go in the summer when the water park is turned on. Great also for walking the dogs around and for the kids to ride there bikes, scooters etc. Alway clean and tidy. Plenty of place to park along the roadside or the side streets, you may encounter the odd annoyed resident who's fed up with people parking outside there house so always expect the odd but of verbal abuse. Just wondering if the staff in the food huts would like to smile a bit more and be polite instead of just taking your money and moodily passing your food over, also wearing protective clothing (hair nets, food gloves) when handling food would look better. Rather than having greasy hands that have just handled cooked food then making an icecream it's not very hygienic really!!”
“This is an amazing park right in the centre of Cardiff with lots to see and it's very peaceful for a walk in the evening. There's plenty to do from adult fitness to a visitor centre to checking out the interpretive signs about the trees and wildlife. This was a great find and a must-see for anybody in Cardiff”
“The place to go if you want to get photos of kingfishers. You might get lucky and see one quickly, you might have to wait many hours, but generally if you're patient you will be rewarded. The first hide is best as the perches are a lot closer. Nice walks around the area as well, with beautiful colours along the old canal and you can loop around to the river Taff. Plenty of other wildlife around and kids will enjoy the hides when the rabbits and squirrels turn up.”
“A Lovely Day at Roath Park – Peaceful, Beautiful, and Relaxing! We had a really enjoyable time at Roath Park today. It’s such a beautiful and well-kept place, perfect for relaxing or spending time with family and friends. The weather was nice, and the whole park had a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. We started by walking around the lake, which was the highlight of our visit. The water was calm, and we saw ducks, swans, and even some people out on small boats. The iconic lighthouse on the lake is lovely and adds to the charm of the park. We took lots of great photos! There were plenty of benches and open spaces, so it was easy to find a quiet spot to sit and enjoy the view. Families were having picnics, kids were playing, and everyone seemed happy and relaxed. We also stopped at the café for a quick snack, which was convenient and had a nice selection of drinks and food. Overall, Roath Park is a perfect place to escape from the busyness of everyday life. Whether you want to walk, relax, or enjoy nature, this park has something for everyone. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon!”
“Great simple enjoyable trip out. Two mile walk along traffic free road to or from Penarth. Witnessed the locks and bridges open, was fun. Really lovely walk on a pleasant sunny day. Bike hire available too if your not fancying the walk. An unexpected delight.”
“A lovely spot to spend some time! It’s a nice place to visit if the weather is nice, with plenty of open space to enjoy the surroundings. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and it’s perfect for a walk, relaxing, or just taking in the views. Definitely worth a stop on a sunny day.”
“Lovely walk around the lakes lots of lovely ducks and birds .”
“Great park used by dog walkers and children also family picnics.”
“This park has something for everyone! Great for cycling and rollerblading on the wide paths. There are outdoor fitness equipment stations, tennis courts, and even a small cafe. It's the heart of the community—always buzzing with life, yet you can always find a quiet corner. Love it here!”
“One of the better castles I've visited. Plenty to see and explore, interactive audio download available and very reasonably priced. The cafe and gift shop are quite small but the staff are helpful and friendly.”
“Such a beautiful place to be, no matter the weather. Beechwood park has two children’s parks (top & bottom) and a lovely cafe for you to refresh, refill and relax. The park also have some stunning plants, trees and is brimming with wildlife. Come here to relax and forget about things for a while...”
“Lovely place to go for walks, quiet and relaxing and meeting people at you pass by.”
“On my way home I crossed this park, after a busy day at work a little relaxation surrounded by nature. Flowers, birds, the wind whistling through the branches of the trees, everything green and quiet. The park is large, has toilets, a playground for children, clean and well maintained. Magnolia, daffodils and other flowers color the park.”
“Nice place for an evening walk along the cliff edge. You can park the car in the nearby free car park. Would be nice to have an extension of the rail line from nearby Penarth station though.”
“I love this park a park of serenity for me. Not to big. So a nice gentle walk around the circumference is very relaxing. I took my pack lunch But did not realise that the café is now open. The park is nicely spaced out with different activities, children areas bowling greens. The wildlife is especially friendly. With squirrels and birds eating from my hand. The ornate fish pond is nice to see with a nice water fountain in the centre of the pond. A great place for me to dwell on life. And what l saw it is a great place for family's..”
“A great park, lovely open space for walking the dog. With a little play park for the kids. Also has tennis courts that are maintained to a good standard. Public toilets available too.”
“Blessed that this stretch is on my daily running route. Wonderful views with skies ranging from neon blues to dramatic greys across the year”
“Lots of Space that's what I can say”
“Really beautiful park. Suitable for all ages. Perfect for a day out. The water playground is big and is ideal for summer. Facilities like chaging rooms and toilets are available. Plenty of parking available. Drone shot of the park :D”
“Ideal location just staying off the M4. Yes you can hear the noisy traffic but its not disturbed our sleep - the heavy rain did more damage to that ( and some dogs barking!!) Amazing family bathroom - with shower, bath and toilet all in one room for young families only. Everything is clean tidy, level gravel pitch. Very friendly staff. We have enjoyed our stay here with out 3 young children. So much room to go off on our bikes, play park etc.”
“Really nice little park. Has a lot for toddlers to play on which was nice. The steps to the slides are nice and safe for little ones. It's a small park but well laid out. Has a small cafe and toilets too”
