“We have just returned from a weeks stay at this superb B&B. We have stayed in many guest houses but have never felt quite at home as much as we did here. Tony and Jane are the perfect hosts, in fact, we felt like we had known them for years, they are so friendly and easy to talk to. The house is stunning inside and out and is immaculate. Our room was spacious with a relaxing view over the park. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend. “If you get a chance to go here, then do it. So much fun with my three friends. Easy to find, loads of parking, clean facilities and equipment. They had everything you would need bar swimwear. Great safety introduction and prep before the activity. The facilities were incredible. There was plenty of time to enjoy the rapids. We weren't around 5-6 times. The guy who took us out and looked after us was a top bloke from Australia (sadly I can't remember his name) but he was great, we had so much fun and he really got involved with our silly, immature girly nature's. He was encouraging but also respectful of individuals limitations. Thank you so much. Stacey”

“First visit to the shop in Cardiff today, was pleasant, was able to wander round without being hassled but when I asked questions for advise and help. Staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. I think I had Adrian serving me today and he went above and beyond to give me a demonstration of a jig set I was looking at. Other than having a good range and variety of tools and equipment I will be back because the service was so good. Thanks from the novice who bought the jig set & table saw”

“Mollie was knowledgeable, quick to respond and managed to get our LA to provide support for our child despite their best endeavours to stall and deflect at every turn. Our initial meeting with Andrew was insightful and he was on hand to help as required when matters became more complex. We managed to avoid a tribunal hearing and resolved proceedings by consent order a few weeks before our tribunal date. We would never have been able to get the right support for our child on our own, without the team at HCB. We were particularly impressed with their grounds of appeal and case statement. They were instrumental for putting across our case and for putting us in touch with people who could understand and help our child. We are so grateful for their help and support, for holding our LA to account and for making them see sense. Our child is finally thriving and being adequately supported in his new school. Thank you Mollie and team.”

“The place to go if you want to get photos of kingfishers. You might get lucky and see one quickly, you might have to wait many hours, but generally if you're patient you will be rewarded. The first hide is best as the perches are a lot closer. Nice walks around the area as well, with beautiful colours along the old canal and you can loop around to the river Taff. Plenty of other wildlife around and kids will enjoy the hides when the rabbits and squirrels turn up.”

    Roath Park

“A Lovely Day at Roath Park – Peaceful, Beautiful, and Relaxing! We had a really enjoyable time at Roath Park today. It’s such a beautiful and well-kept place, perfect for relaxing or spending time with family and friends. The weather was nice, and the whole park had a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. We started by walking around the lake, which was the highlight of our visit. The water was calm, and we saw ducks, swans, and even some people out on small boats. The iconic lighthouse on the lake is lovely and adds to the charm of the park. We took lots of great photos! There were plenty of benches and open spaces, so it was easy to find a quiet spot to sit and enjoy the view. Families were having picnics, kids were playing, and everyone seemed happy and relaxed. We also stopped at the café for a quick snack, which was convenient and had a nice selection of drinks and food. Overall, Roath Park is a perfect place to escape from the busyness of everyday life. Whether you want to walk, relax, or enjoy nature, this park has something for everyone. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon!”

    Victoria Park Playground

    ★★★★☆ 4.7

“Our favourite place to go in the summer when the water park is turned on. Great also for walking the dogs around and for the kids to ride there bikes, scooters etc. Alway clean and tidy. Plenty of place to park along the roadside or the side streets, you may encounter the odd annoyed resident who's fed up with people parking outside there house so always expect the odd but of verbal abuse. Just wondering if the staff in the food huts would like to smile a bit more and be polite instead of just taking your money and moodily passing your food over, also wearing protective clothing (hair nets, food gloves) when handling food would look better. Rather than having greasy hands that have just handled cooked food then making an icecream it's not very hygienic really!!”

“The village surrounding the castle is beautiful, and lovely to walk through on the way to the castle including the secret garden ran by the castle gardener. Just be aware there are some rather steep slopes to walk up. There are a few cafes that do cream tea outside the castle and also museums and shops. Once actually in the castle grounds there are also lots of slopes to walk up and down to access different areas. There is lots of information about the castle and how it came to be what it is today and also some original features. The views from the castle are wonderful and can see for miles. There is parking for the castle and also other parking nearby if needed. There is a watermill that is still operating which they use to make flour, you can also buy this in the shop as well as other local produce.”
