Took the kids to Roath Park and it was a total hit! The playground was a blast, and they loved feeding the ducks.here’s loads of open space to run around and explore. It’s clean, safe, and just a fun, wholesome day out for the whole family. Definitely coming back!

Roath Park in Cardiff is one of those rare places that feels both lively and peaceful, making it perfect for almost any mood. The moment you arrive, the lake is the first thing that captures your attention, with its iconic white lighthouse standing proudly at the center. Walking around the water is a refreshing experience, whether you’re there for exercise, to clear your mind, or simply to admire the swans and geese that glide past. What makes the park special is its variety. The rose gardens in the summer are a burst of color and fragrance, while the greenhouse adds an exotic twist with tropical plants and koi fish. Families love it because there’s plenty of space for children to run around, while fitness enthusiasts take advantage of the circular path for jogging or cycling. On sunny days, rowing boats on the lake bring an extra layer of charm. Despite being so close to the city, Roath Park has a calming, almost timeless feel. Whether you’re taking a slow stroll, having a picnic, or just watching the sunset reflect on the water, it’s a spot that never disappoints. It’s not just a park, it’s a slice of Cardiff’s heart.

A beautiful spot to relax and enjoy nature! The lake is peaceful and perfect for feeding the friendly birds and swans—it’s such a joy to watch them up close. There’s a great activity area for kids that keeps them entertained, plus boating is available for a fun time on the water. Whether you want a quiet walk, a family outing, or some outdoor fun, this park has it all.

Amazing park! There was food free parking around the park. We loved watching all the birds and even got to see a turtle sunning itself! Some of the geese were a little scary, but we just walked away when they started to follow us. Would be lovely to take a picnic and sit near the rose garden. Plenty of benches too!

A Lovely Day at Roath Park – Peaceful, Beautiful, and Relaxing! We had a really enjoyable time at Roath Park today. It’s such a beautiful and well-kept place, perfect for relaxing or spending time with family and friends. The weather was nice, and the whole park had a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. We started by walking around the lake, which was the highlight of our visit. The water was calm, and we saw ducks, swans, and even some people out on small boats. The iconic lighthouse on the lake is lovely and adds to the charm of the park. We took lots of great photos! There were plenty of benches and open spaces, so it was easy to find a quiet spot to sit and enjoy the view. Families were having picnics, kids were playing, and everyone seemed happy and relaxed. We also stopped at the café for a quick snack, which was convenient and had a nice selection of drinks and food. Overall, Roath Park is a perfect place to escape from the busyness of everyday life. Whether you want to walk, relax, or enjoy nature, this park has something for everyone. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon!

Beautiful place, lots of swans, geese, ducks and a heron. Free on street parking all around the park. Ice cream van, ice cream stall and cafe on site. Nice sized playground and lots of benches and grassy areas to sit for a picnic with shaded areas under the trees. Very picturesque. Dogs allowed on leads. Toilets near the entrance. There are boats but weren't available the day we were there.

Beautiful place for a walk just make sure you know where you step (bird/pet droppings). The whole park can be easily covered on foot. Great spots for photography. Ice cream kiosk is not that great. Watch out for the huge slide in the kids play area!

Surprisingly big park that had some awesome botanical features/gardens as well as a nice lake and park for the kids. There is an on site cafe, ice cream/dessert/tea shop on site along with an ice cream van on the other side. It was 19 degrees when we went so the park was massively busy although it didn't stop the kids from having fun!
