A lovely walk around the grounds, the weather was not good but somewhere I'd come back to and visit , in the spring/summer months

The wild gardens, at the far end of Roath lake was originally a hatchery, with smaller ponds for the fish ahead of them being moved into the main lake. This is a favourite for dog walkers due to wooded area, clear pathways and streams. It's not a huge space but with the lake across a small road it can be a good sized walk. Coffee shops are six or seven minutes walk away.

So fortunate to have this on our doorstep. Beautiful walks any season of the year. Lots of bird life, lovely when the little ones hatch! Great park for the kids, dog friendly (on leads), plenty of parking round the lake. There's a cafe too and toilets in several areas.

Lovely area to explore. Bit muddy now after all the rain. Great area for kids, swings slides etc and plenty of open space for them to run around.

Gorgeous park, lots of swans nesting, goose, Moor hens with little ones! A pity they are not able to water the roses, so a lot where dying of thirst. But the variety of trees and the fish in the stream all wonderful. Even an ice cream van! Haha

Winter, Spring, Sumner or Fall as the song goes, it's always a wonderful place to visit. Indoor gardens a must to see, amble around outside and there are well kept flower displays . Walk a little further and Roath Park lake with all the different water fowl and rowing and paddle boats for hire. A great place to walk or jog for your daily exercise or have a picnic while the kids play on the slides and swings or climb the the rope climb. There is a charming cafe by the rowing boats plus toilets by the children's play area plus Ice cream booth. Something different to see all year round.

Lovely area for walks, picnics, feeding ducks/geese/swans. Big bag of Bird feed is £1 from the boathouse. Play area is quite big. Can get quite busy when the sun's out. Parking is usually possible for free around outside perimeter of park.
