“Me and my little one attend turtle tots class in health hospital pool every week. We can’t recommend it enough. He absolutely loves it and has grown so much confidence in matter of weeks. He is only just two and is already able to swim which is crazy and this is all due to his amazing teacher Ceri-Anne.”

“We have just returned from a weeks stay at this superb B&B. We have stayed in many guest houses but have never felt quite at home as much as we did here. Tony and Jane are the perfect hosts, in fact, we felt like we had known them for years, they are so friendly and easy to talk to. The house is stunning inside and out and is immaculate. Our room was spacious with a relaxing view over the park. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend. “Good spot for a walk, takes about 20 minutes to orbit the pond. Path is properly surfaced, broad and step free. Best part - the flower meadow near the car park, see photos (mid-September).”

“Amazing little park, perfect to walk your puppy and go on a walk with friends. Clean and looked after, and safe for people and dogs. Our puppies had a lovely time there.”

“The panoramic views from the top of the hill are breathtaking, especially at sunset. It's a bit of a climb, but completely worth it. A popular spot for photographers and couples. Very romantic”

“I popped here with my 4yo girls to take advantage of a rare sunny afternoon. The girls were thoroughly entertained for 2.5hours and could have lasted longer if I’d let them! The new double zip line was a hit, as was the splash pad but I think they enjoyed the general sense of freedom I was able to allow them in a safe enclosed environment. (although the park was very quiet when we visited) The staff were really welcoming and friendly. They even encouraged me to bring a picnic or fish and chips next time to make a real day of it - such a good idea! At £3 per child (adults free) to come and go as you please all day I think it’s an absolute steal! Top tip: wear a wetsuit and water shoes so kids can easily swap between play park and splash park. Also if there’s a wind it can be a bit chilly in the water!”

“Over the years I have stayed at many hotels, each usually with their own restaurant, few are good, some mediocre and many are poor. Out of all the hotels I've stayed at I'm happy to say that the Chefs at this restaurant are why I return and why I'd say it's somewhere within my personal top 3 hotel restaurants I've dined at. The food is always genuinely excellent, a particular favourite is the scotch egg with pea puree and bacon jam... a good reason in itself to return! The pork belly with fennel, cabbage, potato gratin and sage stuffing is another excellent dish, each element is clearly treated with care and skill which absolutely shows in the finished product. Thank you to the chef for making another night away from home a little more tolerable by way of excellent cookery.”

“Lovely garden nice for a well earned rest after a walk toilets by cafe by seaside no playground suitable for dogs allowed all year round just benches no pininc area just a lovely spot to spend an hour or 2 to gather your thoughts and think off others calm peaceful and tranquil”

“Lovely lakeside walk with numerous wildlife to watch. Clean well maintained paths to explore. Not too busy, quiet and relaxing. Has a small car park. Really nice.”

“Large empty open space,trees grass and plenty of room to stretch you're legs play footy or roam around the woods, perfect for getting your excercise or clearing you're head,one of cardiff secret gardens, well worth a visit.”

“Wow! I wish we'd found this great park earlier this summer. Splash pad was a big success with our granddaughter and the play ground was in good condition. A few benches near the splash pad would help but otherwise perfect.”

“The 3 grandchildren loved it plenty of things for them to do and a lovely large green area for picnics. The children are 9. 10, and 12.”

“Bigger and better than last year. On a scorching June Saturday if your not participating consider bringing camping chair or a picnic blanket to sit down on, possibly an umbrella as no shade. The Aqua Park sell drinks, ice lollies, crisps and snacks at fairly reasonable prices. Water is cold but wet suit isn't necessary if you don't mind colder water.”

“Good quiet budget hotel next to the water in Cardiff. Decent rooms with hairdryer, iron (and board!), kettle, decent shower. Breakfast is basic but for the price is fine. No marmite though, which I wasn't happy about. Decent sized carpark for £10 a night. Also a false fire alarm at 715 but that's not their fault - probably some idiot pushing a fire door or vaping in their room.”

“Always a good time here. Average prices by today's standards. Visited again recently. Unfortunately the opening hours were very limited, shame considering it's June, and a few of the bigger rides were out of order. Still, the wristbands were cheap enough, so made the most of what was available! Good for little ones!”

We came back to Toby Carvery Cardiff Gate, and once again, we were absolutely delighted by the exceptional service—from Bron, her manager Ben, and her lovely colleague Caitlin. Bron continues to shine every time we visit. She’s so kind, attentive, and effortlessly warm with everyone she serves. Her ability to make every guest feel welcome and looked after is truly something special. It’s clear she puts her heart into what she does, and it makes a huge difference to the overall experience. We also want to highlight Ben, the manager, who sets a fantastic tone for the team. He’s approachable, supportive, and clearly leads by example. The atmosphere here is so positive and well-organized, and that kind of environment starts at the top. Caitlin was equally brilliant—friendly, upbeat, and always ready with a smile. She worked seamlessly alongside Bron and Ben, helping to create a genuinely warm and welcoming vibe even on a busy day. The food was as delicious and satisfying as ever—hearty portions, well-cooked roasts, and all the trimmings. But it’s truly the people at this location that make it stand out. The care, teamwork, and professionalism we saw today were absolutely top-notch. Thank you again to Bron, Ben, and Caitlin for another memorable visit. We’ll definitely be back soon—great food, but even better company!”
