“Nice large car park and looks like a overflow when very busy. There is a small cafe and information centre. Short walk up Dovedale to stepping stones,or you can go further to caves etc.”
“Lovely quiet campsite. Goof for dogs. Clean shower building with laundry, dishwasher facilities. Clean campsite with large plots. Nice walk across the dam to the visitor centre.”
“Carsington Water truly exceeded our expectations during our recent bike ride around the reservoir. It's an absolutely superb destination for cyclists and nature lovers alike. The cycle pathways are exceptionally well maintained, providing a smooth and enjoyable ride throughout the entire loop. It's clear a lot of care goes into keeping them in top condition, making it accessible and pleasant for all skill levels. What truly sets Carsington Water apart are the stunning views that unfold as you pedal along. Every turn offers a new picturesque vista of the water and the surrounding Derbyshire countryside. We found ourselves frequently pausing just to take it all in. Conveniently, there are plenty of benches strategically placed along the route, which allowed us to stop, rest, and really soak up the beautiful surroundings without feeling rushed. If you're looking for a refreshing outdoor activity with breathtaking scenery and excellent facilities, a bike ride around Carsington Water is an absolute must. We had a brilliant time and can't wait to go back!”
“A WONDERFUL town centre public park that is well maintained, large garden areas with beautiful plants and trees, lots of playground equipment for children, skate park, tennis courts, bowling green, paddling pool, cafe selling hot and cold food and drink where you can dine inside or outside, toilets available. This park is a credit to the local town council as it is very well maintained to the highest standards and should be recognised by the local public and visitors to the area.”
“Lovely park with a well-maintained kids’ play area and a nice walking path. Clean, peaceful, and great for families.”
“A had a great time at Elvaton Castle Country Park. It has a information centre, gift shop and a cafe. There are lots of play area one with a fence and teaditional play equipment. The other is a massive area of logs to climb on. The castle is not open to public but it is where the cafe is and the loos. There is a lake, lots of rocks, a moorish temple, a pump house and water wheel, lots of types of huge trees, long walks, an old English garden, a nature reserve and lovely garden to explore. You can get there by using the skylink bus. There is also the parish church on the grounds as well. There are picnic benches and benches around the castle.”

“Again a lovely walk round the park, every time we visit there is something else to discover This time we followed the lake path such a great walk a perfect spots for pictures, and lots of seating for stops or picnics We even found the lake run off which heads steep downhill through the woods think that will be our next adventure This location is quickly becoming one of my favourite it's just missing somewhere to have a coffee and a cake and it would be perfect”

“Large suburban park with some wide, even paths suitable for wheelchairs. It has a cricket pitch, small playground, picnic benches, benches, a pond where you can see various birds including ducks, with small wooded and good sized grassed areas. The pond has recently been widened to include a wetland/margin for wildlife. The park has multiple bins for rubbish/ dog poo bags placed at regular intervals.”

“So glad that Oink's field has finally been recognised on Google maps so that I can pay homage to him more frequently now that he's left for water buffalo heaven. He will be sorely missed. Really looking forward to visiting Derby again soon so I can add some quality pictures of Oink's field to this review.”

“While in the area I sat in the park to eat my lunch. Very nice and well kept huge park. Plenty of room for children to play, exercise equipment too. They have toilets but are rather dated. But better than nothing.”

“Such a nice park really close to Derby! Certainly worthwile taking a day and hiking through it!”
“Large green space with a few paths leading to smaller grassy areas. There's a children's play park in the centre with a sheltered seating area. The canal path that run's along next to the park can take you all the way to town. Along the other way It takes you through to the Chellaston area near Royal Glen Park. Opposite the path exit is the newly installed Cuttle Bridge. If you cross the bridge and walk the path it takes you to the lock. And from there you can various places depending which route you take. The lock is in use and there are quite a few canal boats that dock there. Great walk's for all the public, dog's and children. There are places to stop and take refreshments along the way. Winter walk's are also nice and very picturesque. Gets a bit busy in hot weather as visitors dont go very far and sit along the canal near the water. Lot's of different people come here to relax, walk their dog's, cycle along the routes and visit famous spots along the canals”

“I took a leap and booked a Jumpin party package just 2.5 weeks before the event, despite never having been there before—and I’m so glad I did! From the moment I booked, every staff member provided outstanding service. I called several times with questions and each time I was greeted with friendly and helpful responses. The kids had a blast in the ball pit before our session began, and the team was incredibly accommodating, even welcoming two surprise guests without any issues. Safety was a top priority, with staff stationed throughout the play area ensuring the kids were safe. Hand sanitizers were readily available, which was a nice touch. Our party host was the sweetest person, making the experience even better. The party room was clean and nicely set up, with comfortable seating. We were given a balloon arch, cake knife, cutlery, paper plates, and cups—though the party lights didn’t work, but that was only a minor hiccup. We ordered pizzas, which the kids loved, along with chips, salad, a tray of delicious fruit, and two amazing cake/biscuit boxes that I’m still raving about. Unlimited squash was available throughout our session. The host helped us both set up and clean up, and was always on hand to assist with anything we needed. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the service! Paid parking is available, and you have 5 minutes from your arrival to pay. As a side note, Jumpin Derby is the only place I’ve visited since arriving in the UK where every staff member I encountered was genuinely friendly and helpful!”
“A great local park that's safe for kids and plenty of grass areas for dog owners too. Mums dog tiggy and our granddaughter love it!”
“Absolutely amazing service , we needed a hotel for the night last minute due to a awful expereince at our accomodation in Nottingham. We turned up late to reception and the guy went out of his way to get us a room suitable for 3 adults. Nothing was too much trouble and we got a fairly good night's sleep. Staff were amazing , so thank you for coming to our rescue after a awful experience elsewhere”
“We like this place. It was our second visit there when we were on the way to visit our cousin's in Derby. It is worth it to go and have a bit of fun ;-)”
