“Fantastic enclosed area for your doggos. 2 fields, the agility field with pond and a chill field. We take our two to the chill field and they love it! There's a water station and even a little paddle pool when it's hot and a toy chest with balls and tug toys for your pooches. You drive straight into the field and shut the gate being you and you know your dogs will be safe. Best place ever!!”

“Much of the area is left unmown. It is divided by seasonal water courses, and untrimmed hedges with oak, field maple, yew, and all the common hedgerow trees.”

“Roundhay Park is absolutely brilliant – one of the best city parks I’ve ever visited. It’s massive, beautifully maintained, and has something for everyone. The lakes, woodlands, and wide open green spaces make it perfect for walks, picnics, or just relaxing outdoors. We spent a good few hours wandering around and still didn’t see it all. The walk around Waterloo Lake was especially lovely, with ducks and swans, and loads of scenic spots to stop and take in the view. The Tropical World nearby is also well worth a visit if you’ve got kids or just fancy something a bit different. Great facilities too – plenty of parking, clean toilets, and cafes dotted around for a coffee or snack. Whether you’re local or just visiting Leeds, Roundhay Park is a must-see. A proper breath of fresh air right on the city’s doorstep.”

“Incredibly well designed and maintained gardens that are attractive all year round. The annual themed garden (this year Wallace and Grommet) is always a treat, and the playground is very well equipped for all ages of children. The Meadow section, with its more natural design, has come a long way, and is great for a stroll or a picnic. Probably our favourite gardens in York. Would benefit from a permanent cafe, but the Explore Library mobile Cafe and tent are good, and the Youth Hostel cafe (good coffee and cakes) is only a short walk around the corner.”

“We had a very nice morning walking around the park with our dog. There’s a few car parks on either side of the park with plenty of spaces. They’re free to park. Lots of guided paths to follow with maps everywhere. The wildfowl lake was popular with the kids! The gardens are currently bare due to winter, but I’m sure it’ll be beautiful to visit in the summer. There’s a dog friendly cafe with a selection of cakes and hot/cold drinks, and ice cream! Looking forward to returning in the summer season for music on Sundays!”

“I didn’t get to Temple Newsam to see the rhododendrons as planned this year, but did manage to fit in a quick visit today. The grounds really are magnificent! I love the walled garden and the many paths which lead around the estate. We also visited the tea rooms for a late lunch-friendly staff and lovely food; generous portion sizes too. You can explore the grounds for free but there are charges to visit the house, farm and Go Ape (we passed this as we headed back to eat-looks like great fun!) Parking is free except for the carpark nearest the drive in entrance which is £4.70; this can be paid online or by visiting the gift shop. Recommended!”

“A lovely open space. Plenty of open areas for children to play and a well maintained playground. The wooded area is a delight - lots of paths to explore. If you want a climbing challenge, then there are some good steep slopes to scramble up. The coffee shop near the car park on the south side is excellent.”

“Beautiful place inside and out a real gem of a place nestled in the now busy town. Spent a lot of time here when I was younger and it's nice to see it's still going strong. One thing I do recommend is seeing the birds I don't no why I find them very peaceful. Enjoy”

“I recently visited HFC on Roundhay Road and ordered the full grilled chicken—it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was cooked perfectly and flavour-packed exterior. What really stood out was their special sauce—so tasty and unique, it took the meal to the next level.”

“Such a beautiful and attractive place to relax and spend time. There are nice walking areas, interesting architecture, and even the option for a boat trip with the taxi boats. It was really quiet at this time of the year, not crowded at all,I bet during summer there are a lot of people. I bet during summer there's a good variety of restaurants and bars, so everyone can find something to suit their taste and budget, but now the options were quite limited. The dock offers options for spending time outdoors, and exploring the Royal Armouries museum, which is huge and definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately we couldn't visit because it was closed (Monday only). I saw that there are limited options for shopping, comparing with the city centre. Overall,we really liked it and definitely will come back during summer.”

“A beautiful park with lots of trails so walks can be varied. A fantastic place to walk dogs with secluded fields where dogs can be let off the leash for a run around without the worry of bothering other people. There are also ample bins around which people clearly use as the park was spotless. There's a small pond where a few families were fishing. There is also a fantastic bmx course and a huge off road mountain biking course suitable for all ages. It was so good to see so many people of all ages enjoying these facilities. Next to the bike courses is a nice and friendly, reasonably priced cafe.”

“First time users and will definitely be back. My 2 dogs a cocker spaniel 6 months and a pomapoo 5 yrs absolutely loved it here. So much to do for them. Added bonus of there being poo bags and water available. Literally everything you need for your pooch is supplied. The car park is locked so you’re totally safe and there’s a 10 min buffer so if u have a reactive dog they’re not gonna see any other dogs . Thank you from me Marmite my pomapoo and Toast my cocker spaniel x”

“First time going here today, and I’ve never ever seen owt like it!! The place is insane, so so much to do and keep the kids busy all day. We was here from 10.15am till 4.10pm. If it wasn’t for needing to get our train back to Leeds we’d of stayed until the place closed. All the staff were friendly, polite, smiles on their faces. They were there to help if needed! The boys were gutted to go home, and are already dying to come back again!! Thank you for such an amazing day, and for a big well done for all the staff working 21/08/25, you worked your backsides off!! Xx”

“Skye won an hour's play at Elementary Dog Park which was kindly donated to help support our local RSPCA summer fair! Skye is a reactive dog and a fence jumper so privacy and security are the most important things to us in a dog park. We felt very secure within the premises, with parking spaces for multiple cars within the park and proper 6ft fencing with no nearby mounds to discredit the height! Skye loved zooming across the field and using the equipment. Then spent half her time recovering in the shade. Thanks for donating the session, we'll be back again, no doubt!!”
