“First time there (working in the area that day) and only got a beacon & Tom sandwich + coffee to take away. Very friendly service and a great sandwich. Working in that area again soon and will be going back with work mates for a full breakfast.”

“We've driven past this every workaday morn. Thought we'd give it a go. I was reticent because it looks weird (middle of an 80's business park) and I am picky as heck about coffee. Well it's excellent and now my favourite place to go. Really, really delicious coffee in a nice thick blue mug. The kind of coffee that has that collar of creamy froth on top. Good sofas, happy staff and a Christmas Tree!!!! You can get crumpets, toasted teacakes, bacon or sausage butties and lunch stuff too. A real hidden gem.”

“My favourite park. I live not far. Great place for a walk, cycling and running and many other events. Beautiful view around. Little lakes and garden. Massive space for walkers or people who do sports. House is great too. Farm _ great for kids and children. I just love it each time of the year.”

“Lovely place. Well taken care of. Plenty of birds to see, even in winter time. Car park has plenty of spaces, and if you have an RSPB membership it's free.”

“The Stray is a huge area of open land in Harrogate, but at this time of year most people are visiting one particular section of it which is the avenues of blossom trees. It was very dull and overcast yesterday morning when I visited but there were lots of visitors, all trying for the perfect photos. The trees really are spectacular; the majority are well-established mature trees but there seems to be a program of planting as I spotted a couple of areas with fair young trees. I’m so pleased that I was able to see them in full bloom, even if it wasn’t ideal conditions for photos.”

“Thanks for amazing good, speedy service and kind offers! Minu was very nice to us. First time at GDK and certainly not last :) The inferno was a little spicy but not as much as we expected, but the kebab was great and toasted really good. Not super messy either.”

“Lovely nature reserve to walk around. Good walking shoes/boots needed as the terrain is very varied and can be quite slippery if its been raining. But would definitely recommend.”

“Nostell Priory in Wakefield is a peaceful mix of history and nature. The grand house and calm parkland are beautiful to explore, and we even saw cows grazing nearby, which made it feel extra serene. A lovely place for a quiet walk and fresh air.”

“Jem’s Pit Stop, and Batley, West Yorkshire is an American themed diner. We were driving to Birstall and thought to stop for a a bite in the afternoon and when we were read the tweets but reviews we didn't believe there is place like this in Batley so decided to try it and we weren't disappointed but glad to see it. Look at the photos that will explain it. It took us a long time to explore the place and see the motorbikes and hidden treasures of the place. Then we headed to our table to eat and that was good a very good menu plenty varieties for different diets and people of all ages. The staff, service and quality of food all great.”

“Had a delightful Sunday lunch today. Warm and friendly welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble....We chose a small roast option and so pleased we did....the plates brimming, plenty for us. Deserts sounded wonderful sadly we didn't have room. We will certainly return the our youngest as I know desert will definitely be eaten then! Thank for a very pleasant experience. “A very well kept, clean and tidy park which really is a nice hidden gem. Great mix of trees, plants, bushes and grass and plenty of benches to relax on as well. In the Summer there is a paddling pool for the kids and it has good access to both the Castle and the Riverside.”

“Had a viewing with Amie who was lovely and really helpful. She has also been great in helping me with the process for securing a flat at Mustard Wharf! It was really easy to sort a viewing. The buildings are gorgeous - very modern and clean. It’s a gorgeous area which feels very safe. The amenities are also beautiful.”

“The cafe takes on people with learning disabilities. The staff are pleasant, friendly and approachable. They are very good at multi-tasking and ensure they always have the right foodstuffs to meet your needs. They will go out of their way to make conversation with everyone and anyone. You can eat indoors or outdoors and enjoy the parkland setting of which the cafe is set within.”

“A fantastic afternoon spent walking around the grounds, the woods and the gardens before strolling around the Wildlife Park which has a great variety of animals in spacious enclosures. Rounded off with a visit to the House and taking in the history and artefacts of a very well maintained manor. Lovely!”

“We had our wedding here on Saturday. We were lucky with the weather but fantastic location and helpful, hard working staff. You are not tied to any contractors but can use whoever you want. Good value for wedding venue.”

“We are wintering at Lemonroyd this year and I just wanted to log how friendly people are here and how hard Andy and his missus Karon are working to make us feel welcome. Its a great location - perfect for popping out on the cut to do small maintenance jobs. We feel protected from high river levels - or not enough water as so much of the rest of the network has experienced. Highly recommended”

“Interesting and informative to walk round. Steps for better viewing, well maintained for picnics on the grass. Special events so check their website. Cafe and toilets plus kids park, really good few hours! Car park nearby (I parked in morrisons as shopping after) and you can walk around the outside, on paths and over the road.”

“This is a great place, just outside the centre. The main thing I love about this area, apart from the location and great natural vista is the fact that you can make the walk as short or long as you wish. There are so many variants using all the interconnected loops it's great on foot or bike. My only concern is too many people get to hear about it and it gets over used... Maybe a "Washlands Trust" could be started so more people can enjoy it, and it can be naturally maintained for all to enjoy. I would suggest all to go and enjoy the nature on your doorstep... responsibly.”
