Great outdoor space with a good kids' playground and huge paddling pool open in summer. Parking is a little on the pricey side especially for a short visit but not unreasonable. Some parts could benefit from a refresh but cafe facilities are good and the shops next to the cafe are worth a visit

One of the best parks in the area as it has big open spaces and lots of facilities. Good flat walking areas with hard paths. Toilet facilities and a nice cafe with a beautiful outdoor seating area. They also have a limited 1 hour free parking if you need to just pop in, which is located near the shops. The triangle near the garden centre also has limited free parking, as well as the crem. The park has lots of things to do for kids, one of the biggest play areas I've seen. The paddling pool is also open in the summer, which is the best thing ever on a hot day.

Large open space park offering a range of activities and features for all ages. Plenty of parking but is app only. Scan QR code to download app and then pay for parking. We paid Β£2.70 for 2hrs. There is a play area for kids and a stream for dogs to play in. Cafe and restaurant for anyone wanting to eat. Also ice cream vans. Some craft shops in centre of park. Plenty of trails and woodland to explore.

We (two families) went to the paddling pool (last weekend) and had about 30 minutes of water time. We noticed that the water was very cold and dirty, with visible mud. The bathroom facilities were also unclean, and the pool seemed overcrowded. The next day, our childrenβand the adults who were with them in the poolβexperienced vomiting, fever, and diarrhea. This may have been caused by poor water quality. I hope this review is taken into consideration to help improve conditions, such as controlling the number of visitors, enforcing rules like requiring a shower before entering the pool, and ensuring frequent cleaning and sanitation. Otherwise, the play areas were excellent.

A big park with a little of everything including (randomly) a model railway shop. We managed to spend an entire day there without getting bored (helped by a paddling pool, playground, coffee shop and mini golf). It is a popular park so places like the paddling pool does get really busy when it's warm, as does the ice cream stall. Loads of land around though away from them and plenty of other things to do. We'll likely go back and we live 40 odd miles away.

Great place to visit, love the open space and just outside the hustle and bustle of the city. Nice cafe in the centre of the park along with some lovely craft shops. During the summer there is a large paddling pool for the kids. Two ice cream outlets, one by the pool and a mobile truck near the cafe. Large kids play area and also a high rope trail for those more adventurous, though check out its website before going, as not sure on its opening times. There is also woodland walks and aa boating lake.

Love this park I've been coming since I was younger lots of things to do including paint a pot, play area, canoes, bouncy castles, donkey rides, cars, crazy golf and more. Really nice little cafe too.

I used to be brought here 30 years ago and most of it still looks the same to my parents and it was a great visit down memory lane for them. This time, I brought my own children to play here! Great place to visit. Although we have never been here when it is packed but quiet is nice just the same.

Large public park, easily the most popular park in Derby and therefore incredibly busy during the summer. It caters for all ages with remarkably good playgrounds for both young and older children, a skate park, paddling pool, outdoor crazy golf, bouncy castles, children's canoeing on a shallow pool, boating on a lake, a craft village and the orangery tea rooms. The grounds are huge with lots of grassy areas to enjoy alongside the Markeaton Brook flowing through its entire length. Historically the park is hugely significant, although you need to research it yourself as Derby city council seems to be allergic to promoting the city's past.
