Given a same afternoon appointment, we were visiting the area and to cancel an appointment where we live. I explained he wasn't a fan of being groomed, but he was taken good care of and had a lovely haircut, thank you from Sally and Teddy
I don’t usually write reviews but this world is always full of negativity and I wanted to say something positive. I’ve taken my 2 Doxiepoo’s to Pet-a-pawter for around 6 months now, regularly (every 6 weeks) I’d had a bad experience one day with the groom room so I contacted them by chance, explained my difficulty and my situation, they fitted me in the next morning at a squeeze. This wasn’t because they weren’t inundated, but because the ladies working here are genuine and caring. Every experience since has been great. I confused my dates for one appointment and the communication I received after missing the appointment was kind and considerate. My girls are always happy for the rest of the day after leaving there. Sadly cut my spaniel far too short and have left her with clipper burn all over her stomach and with bald patches. Her paw pads haven’t been cleaned out and still has lots of hair sticking out. Really not overly impressed In response to your response, I did say to cut her - not to scalp her, which is what has happened - she’s undeniably got clipper burn over her stomach as she’s now furiously licking it and it’s scabbing in places - she is clearly very uncomfortable on it. I had explained that I was on my way and when I got there I hadn’t seen her stomach, equally once it’s gone - it’s gone! Can hardly stick hair back on! I won’t be returning, but thank you for qualifying the other point I had neglected to make about the overall tone in which you speak to your customers. Best of luck.
Super happy with our first visit. Finally we've found a groomer who does a really nice job. Ladies were so helpful and fitted us in quite quickly
I have bought my dog Henry to Pet-a- Pawter for well over a year now on a Monthly basis. I would highly recommend this groomers to anyone, it’s the best groomers in the local area.. The ladies are always patient, professional and caring and I am always delighted with the way they handle Henry as he hates having a bath. The prices are reasonable considering the hard work involved in grooming a dog and he smells and looks like a prince when I pick him up.. I can’t imagine ever going to any other groomers and can’t recommend them enough. Thank you Pet-a-Pawter
Extremely un professional. Took my 6 month old cockapoo here for his first groom. We had a chat beforehand where I expressed that they could do as much or as little as they think he can take. I was very clear that I just wanted him to have a positive experience and not to rush a full groom if they beleived it was not possible. When I picked him up they had given him a full groom, and had a go at me saying that I shouldn’t have asked them to do so with such little time. Again I didn’t ask them to give him a full groom. They then said he was awful tried to bite them etc. I was mortified. They lectured me on being an irresponsible dog owner and talked down to me being very confrontational and condescending. He came back traumatised acting like a totally different dog. For his next groom I took him somewhere else and the feedback from them was the complete opposite. Said he was a lovely behaved dog. He now loves going to his new groomers, but still cowers when he walks past pet a pawter. I do not trust that they treated my dog well and the way they spoke to me afterwards was disgusting. Would never reccomend going here.
Just one of the many bald patches on Lola, very disappointed, bald patches, bits missed, ears not cleaned, all the razor cuts are very prominent, no blending. Won’t be using this place again
We wanted to buy a harness for our puppy which would last him a few months and wouldn’t be too small after just a few weeks as he’s growing. Having looked for an advice we were recommended a harness and promised that it would last. It lasted a few weeks before our outgrew the harness. When we came back with a complaint asking for a discount when buying another one. The service we got was absolutely unprofessional and they were doubting the breed of our dog. We got no apology whatsoever. Absolutely unprofessional service. We don’t recommend this shop and we’re never coming back again.
