Both visits to Stewart's have been last-minute jobs and both occasions he's been extremely helpful and fixed the issues with minimum fuss. Would highly recommend.
No question about it, Stewart is the best motorcycle mechanic I have come across in over 40yrs of riding. Im laughing at the 1 star review who complained about him using ACF-50, I mean, how many mechanics you know use that on a bike?! Stewart doesn’t simply work on a bike, he cares for the bike, and every single nut, bolt, washer and spring with equal diligence. His knowledge is unmatched and his enthusiasm infectious. Stewart is a highly skilled craftsmen who will save you both time and money by knowing exactly what he is doing and doing it properly, first time. There are very few techs left who have worked on bikes since the 80’s and Stewart needs protecting at all costs given his knowledge and experience (which he shares freely to anyone) His labour rate is actually remarkably cheap, but that is slightly irrelevant given the encyclopedic knowledge and care that you as a client and your bike are getting. A billion times better than any BMW, Audi or Mercedes service centre for sure. If you are looking for the best real motorcycle mechanic in the UK, you have found him.
Stewart is fantastic, a great down to earth mechanic who’s not only helpful but also super friendly! I highly recommend him to any biker whether new to rinding and needs a trustworthy service or hardcore rider needing a specialist for their bike(s). Stewart sorted me with front and rear shocks, made a custom piece as the original piece seemed too weak, changed all the consumables and did this with an incredibly friendly and informative attitude. Gotta love a professional who doesn't want to upsell you useless services or components but rather tells you as it is. Many more like Stew is needed to gain back the long lost trust within the industry. Highly recommend his services.
Stewart is a legend. Very knowledgeable on parts/models, able to manufacture parts on the fly, and extremely funny. Difficult to beat!
Absolute gem of a find!! He fit me in last minute for a puncture repair and did a superb job, as one would expect, but you'd be surprised how many mechanics local to me struggle with these things, whilst charging way above their own expertise. Stewart is the opposite. Totally genuine bloke, exceptionally well priced and highly skilled. I'm sad I'm moving out of the area as I would trust Stewart to work on my bike for much bigger jobs as good motorcycle mechanics are really hard to find.
I first visited Stewarts Motorcycles after having some unsatisfactory work done at another repairer (basically they were unable to sort out a carburettor problem and had actually made it worse). Stewart agreed to overhaul both carburettors and fitted new jets and valves as necessary. The bike is now running better than it ever has. In addition to this, he also replaced the fork seals and steering head bearings, which has vastly improved the handling. I will definitely be taking the bike back to Stewarts for all future work, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone else. He obviously knows his stuff, and is a very nice bloke to deal with - very unusual in this day and age.
Stew is a really nice and helpful guy. I went to fix a puncher and I ended up feeding the pigeons in his loft with my little son. He also let my little one to operate the air gun and the wheel machine. a really nice guy. will be back tomorrow for another puncher...unfortunately for me.
