   Absolutely disappointing experience before even starting the course. Meant to start my Diploma level 3 this upcoming Monday but haven’t heard anything concrete until the end of their working day today, saying the course start day has been suspended. Zero transparency and honesty in communication with students and now I’m late to apply for any other course elsewhere because they waited till the very last moment to deliver the news. Beyond appalling behaviour. They are very efficient chasing the payments for the course but not as efficient in providing transparent information regarding the situation. I do not recommend this place at all

   My student journey and learning experience at BAJ was a fortunate and positive event in my life, and I owe much of that to an amazing lecturer: Ms Rebecca Cheeseman. What I appreciated most about her, she is incredibly attentive to students, treating each one as an individual with unique needs, while still maintaining fairness and equality. She is an endless source of information, always ready to provide support, encouraging students to be creative and use any resource available, and loves being part of every project, offering her guidance and enthusiasm. Ms Rebecca, thank you again for being an amazing person and lecturer, this college is lucky to have you!

   I studied a Level 4 course at BAJ, although I was not able to be present throughout most of the year due to personal circumstances my teachers consistently went above and beyond to support me throughout the course. Their compassion, flexibility, and dedication made it possible for me to stay on track, even during the most difficult times. Thank you Bekkie and Eleni

   I studied at BAJ for a year, it was a great time, and experience. I went back to study after a few years break, everything seemed to be overwhelming in the beginning of the term, but ALL my tutors, and colleges were just great with the support. Especially Bekkie, that is very knowledgeable, always happy to help with advice, idea, encouraging to try out new things, techniques, lending her own tools, books... I loved spending time on her workshops. The Academy provides opportunities to students to exhibit their work, finding a job, connecting with other professionals from the jewellery industry. In general a great place to be.

   I completed Levels 3 and 4 of the Diploma in Jewellery Design & Manufacturing at BAJ (2019-20, 2021-22), and I would recommend it to anyone looking to develop strong hands-on bench skills. I appreciated the opportunity to exhibit my work and visit other jewellery institutions and businesses in Europe under the Erasmus program. The exposure to industry projects and competitions, often in collaboration with renowned names, was an invaluable experience that broadened my perspective and enriched my learning. My head tutor for both years, Bekkie Cheeseman, was incredibly supportive — always offering valuable advice and even staying after hours to help resolve challenges. She’s not only a skilled jeweller but also a passionate teacher, which truly shines through in her guidance. I also had the privilege of learning from other talented tutors, including Nicholas, Jack, and Eleni, who were highly knowledgeable in their fields and deeply passionate about teaching. Their support played a significant role in my journey to becoming a jewellery designer and maker.

   Definitely NOT recommended!!! Disrespectful, ignorant stuff. Admin team disgusting service! Discrimination and bullying by tutors! Favouritism with certain students, and unfair attitude! There is only 1/2 good tutors in the entire academy! Very very disappointing experience!

   I was a student here back when it was called Holt's Academy. We weren't even in the same building its now held in. The teachers were all kind, down to earth and explained and taught in very easy to understand ways. The guest lecturers that came in were top notch, for example someone who worked for the royal family engraving coats of arms and a top designer, used by a lot of celebrities. The only thing that I had complaint about was the admin staff and not even all of them, there was this particular person that lied and messed me around in the process of me moving onto the CAD courses, told me that they were no longer continuing the courses in London despite my classmates not being informed of the same thing, it wasn't true btw, and it turned me off of continuing jewellery manufacturing. I didn't want any trouble and so I just said ok and left when my course was done. Over all though I had a great time learning there with my class and tutor Ms Cheeseman. I still talk to a lot of them, so you will get a good experience in terms of how to silversmith/design etc. and gain good like minded friends along the way.

   I've studied at BAJ for two years in total, and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was always knowledgeable about the subject taught, and happy to help me with anything, even with my projects outside the Academy. It is a great learning environment with good facilities and thus I could learn a wide range of jewellery skills.

   The tutors are extremely professional and knowledgeable. The classes are not overly large so you are able to get individual feedback. They go beyond to help you further your practical skills. The students are very welcoming and there is always interesting dialogue between all involved. A special environment with much enthusiasm for the creative and manufacturing processes.
