I have just completed the Level 4 Diploma and have loved studying at K2. Katrin and Kelvin are fabulous tutors with a wealth of experience that they are ready and willing to share. The classes are small which means the students get more opportunities to exchange ideas and feedback. The workshop is in a great location within Cockpit and K2 have made it an inspiring space for learners looking to improve and develop their creative process.

K2 is a great place to push your creativity and build your technical jewellery skills. Katrin and Kelvin are both highly experienced tutors who really encourage you to think differently about design, helping you create unique pieces. They’re very supportive throughout the course, which is run in a small group, so you get plenty of personal attention. The workshop is also a lovely space, full of natural light and plants, making it a great place to work and be inspired.

The K2 Academy offers a distinctive, stretching and rewarding contemporary jewellery making programme. K2’s approach to design development leads to the creation of unique jewellery pieces and collections and the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification in jewellery making and design. Katrin and Kelvin bring their considerable talents knowledge and experience to their teaching approach providing insight, constructive challenge, practical support and encouragement. I would urge anyone looking for a structured accredited course or specialist one-off jewellery making workshops to opt for K2. You will not find a better place to realise your creative aspirations. You will learn techniques that are rarely available on other courses such as Electroforming and Kum-boo and the small class groups mean that you will be able to share knowledge and learn from other students as well. If you can get to London then I recommend going along to one of the Cockpit Arts (Bloomsbury) Open Days and use the opportunity to visit the K2 workspace and be blown away by the skill, creativity and uniqueness of the students work. Then sign up, you won’t look back.

I cannot recommend K2 Jewellery Academy highly enough. I joined as a relative novice attending their structured diploma course classes to learn/improve key techniques. More importantly, I wanted a school that would challenge me to think more creatively about designs. I then moved on to their Friday workshops where students can work on their own ideas with support from Kelvin and Katrin. Their knowledge and experience is incredible. They help and challenge students to try new techniques and creative ideas. The class is small with around 8 students so we benefit from a lot of one to one support. They will also introduce a mini masterclass if there is a subject we all want to work on. They couldn’t be more supportive creating a friendly, welcoming and safe space for their students.

I have been attending day workshops at K2 for more than a year now and I continue to deepen my knowledge, technique and skills. I enjoy working on my own projects with the amazing support from both tutors at K2, Katrin and Kelvin. Both are highly skilled jewellers with a great artistic eye, and both are excellent teachers who can motivate their students to improve and progress. They are very responsive to requests from students and will teach any technique we want to learn. And the number of things you could possibly learn in jewellery is endless!

The Jewellery School in London to go to! The knowledge and experience of both teachers is outstanding! Katrin and Kelvin are not just highly skilled jewelry makers, they are very kind and approachable persons. The students are provided with basic goldsmith techniques to ensure they can realize their unique ideas during the term. The main focus of K2 is to establish a creative mindset to approach the field of jewellery from all angles possible. There should be no rules in art and the pieces created in this studio are nothing short but art themselfs. All materials are allowed and new techniques are invented each other session. Besides, to keep it in the jewellery lingo -> look out for the rest of K2's team.... they are some hidden gems.

I came to the Friday workshops with some specific problems I needed to solve and came away with new skills to sort these out as well as a head now bulging with extra techniques and ideas. This is thanks to Kelvin and Katrin's teaching which is both technically thorough and conceptually provocative. I loved my time at the school and will definitely be going back.

K2 is a great place to study Jewellery Making! As a prospecting jeweller I feel I am making a great choice for my career to learn from Katrin and Kelvin who have an ENORMOUS experience as jewellers and teachers and genuinely enjoy sharing their extensive knowledge. I'm an ambitious beginner who wants to learn quickly, so the individual approach to students and the fact that the groups are small definitely helps to speed up the learning process. After graduating from BA Fine Art at CSM I decided to turn to Jewellery Design and Making and I needed a course that will be a bridge between conceptual, art side of jewellery and proper technical training. K2 turned out to be the perfect place because experimentation, innovation and creativity is always encouraged alongside developing my practical skillset. Brilliant central location of the school is a plus too :) Highly recommended!
