Great experience, went in with a lot of questions about a project and Dennis was very helpful, answered all my questions and helped me select the items I needed.
People in the shop are great - I had two tone chain - platinum and rose gold and I needed the links seperated by metal (platinum in one bag, rose gold in the other) The man (long hair young guy) recommended I buy a cutter myself and clip the links to save the money if paying a jeweller to do it. I went to go buy the cutter and he said to his colleague "this is going to be too expensive for a one time use, lets cut it for him" then his colleague cut all the links for me free of charge. What a lovely group and especially big thanks to the young man who saved me from spending money on a cutter.
Just OK. Some items are as described but I’ve consistently been sent the wrong sizes and denied a swap. Had to deal with an AI chat bot instead of a person, which was slow and painful, and have to sort out a return and new order using my own time. Won’t rush to shop here again, especially for time-sensitive projects.
Our experience with Cooksongold has been extremely negative. With every order, problems have arisen – delays, errors, missing products, and above all, a lack of communication and responsibility from the company. Despite numerous complaints, the situation has not improved. Instead of solutions, we received vague responses and attempts to shift the blame onto the customer. Andrea Halford, in particular, left a very unprofessional impression – instead of addressing our concerns directly, she repeated general statements, ignored key facts, and seemed more interested in closing the issue than resolving it. She even claimed to have contacted us by phone, which never happened – this appeared as an attempt to manipulate the situation. The company offers no compensation or improvement plan. This approach clearly shows how little they value loyal customers. In today’s challenging market, where maintaining customer loyalty is crucial, such an attitude is unacceptable. There are other companies that know how to handle problems and treat clients with respect. Unfortunately, Cooksongold is not one of them.
I’m amazed that there are any bad reviews of Cookson. We went there today to sell some metal. We were welcomed by the lovely, helpful and polite Louis, who explained the process and proceeded to scan and calculate the values. All of this was transparent and it’s clear that it’s a trustworthy business. The shop itself had a quiet, calm atmosphere, and we left having sold it all. Will return.
I have spent thousands over the years with this company, only to come back after Christmas to find they had started legal action regarding my account, which will now affect my credit rating at a time when I am trying to get a morgage. In the 18 years I have traded with this company I have ALWAYS paid. I find it quite excessive and insulting for them to take this action. I have now cleared my balance and will no longer be placing any more orders.
An excellent service all round. I'm surprised at some of the poor reviews because I've always found them fast and efficient, with excellent, friendly customer service, and I've never had to wait more than a minute or two in the shop. When collecting one order I asked for another item and the member of staff knew what it was, found it for me straight away and added to my order there and then. Nothing has ever been missing from any of my orders either. My only criticism is the website, which can be very slow at times, but you get used to its foibles! One bad reviewer said it didn't update when they changed wire sizes, but I suspect they just forgot to click "update basket", as well as "update", on the product price page. If you want to see what a bad website really looks like, try that of a certain enamelling competitor with the initials VS!
MAKE YOUR WEBSITE RELIABLE!! I am so so sick of the constant error 500s , the ‘down for maintenance’ messages, losing baskets, not having the diameter change when i select a different wire, the list of problems on your website is endless. This is important, people rely on you for materials. Sort it out
I’ve ordered a few times from Cooksongold and delivery has always been quick and efficient. I recently had a payment issue and when I contacted customer service, they were extremely friendly, helpful and fixed the issue easily.
Very bad experience with international delivery. I ordered several products, including two fine silver sheets. After almost one month, they arrived in Romania. I had to pay the custom duties, but I found later that those silver sheets were not in the package. So I lost around 100$ and a lot of time. Thank you, cooksongold!
