Putting aside the health suite closure debacle which rumbles endlessly on, the management here can’t even get the basics right. This is the state of the 42 lockers in the male changing rooms. 7 out of the 42 have either no door or no lock. Refurbishment budget assigned since March 2022. Endless promises. No action. It’s a real shame.

I’ve loved this local gym until this new ownership with Better/Greenwich Leisure Limited. They’ve made no real change. Except: the new app is worse, entry to the gym is a step more inconvenient with needing to use the app, communication with members is a LOT worse. I got slapped with a late cancellation fee and locked out of booking anything else on the app immediately after cancelling because I was too sick to come to class - no warning whatsoever. Why turn a good local gym hostile?

Easy to book timed swimming session which I think is great to avoid overcrowding. Friendly nice staff at reception. Great pool although the whole building seems unloved and outdated. My main issue is the cleanliness of the changing and shower area. The floor was filthy and the male toilets smelled foul. I nearly threw up with the smell in there. Personally I am not a fan of shared / unisex showers. Having to shower in front of women kids etc is not nice. I’d use the pool more if I could somehow avoid the chafing area, it really is gross

Great local amenity with a 33.3 meter indoor pool (for those with confused fitness trackers) a smaller outdoor pool and teaching pool for kids, it is now kept clean and well maintained considering it is a public pool. The swimming changing facilities have been upgraded, and they offer great showers in a clean area. While the gym is a bit tired, there are plans for renovations and upgrades. The reception staff are friendly and have a great sense of humour, especially considering some of the flak they get from a handful of grumpy visitors. Parking is pricey, so public transport is the best way to go. Simple booking system, so book in advance or phone if you want to be sure to get a swim. Limited spaces which makes it much easier for lane swimming. 250 capacity for swim and stay sessions in outdoor pool, so check weather and book on sunny day.

So we finally managed to book a swimming session since it was 32 degrees and baking hot yesterday. Was nice clean pool, nice water temperature kids had a blast and it was lovely to chill and have a swim. It is a nice clean and spacious place. Has a good sized changing room. Lots of lockers which require tokens rather than locks or Β£1 coins. Has changing rooms for families as well. Hair dryers on site which are 20p. Offers an indoor and outdoor pool (weather depending) as well as a teaching pool. Nice spacious cafe on site selling a good range of food and drinks hot and cold. Lots of space to sit inside or outside. Could even chill there before or after your session. The team were friendly and helpful and I was happy we did visit. Would have loved to have use the outdoor pool but it was fully booked since others beat me to it for booking the slots. Overall a good first time experience. Would definitely go back. Try it for yourself...

Why rigid timed sessions at specific times... So much for being able to just pop to the pool for a swim... Revisit your policy please..the need for such controls has now passed....

Fine pools but the lockers are wide open a lot of the time and I saw a young man hit his head on one of them and fell over and the staff didn’t seem to care none so I’d give that a 1 star since customer care is priority in any establishment. The lifeguards should be checking this but clearly they haven’t been trained properly.

No sauna anymore, I asked on the phone if they’ll be getting a new one & they didn’t no sounded pretty unlikely. Shame because that was a great facility to use & has a lot of health benefits too…Oh well, will have to look for somewhere else to swim & sauna.

First time visit. Has small car park , locker a bit small (will use 2 tokens next time for 2 lockers would be the solution) found the family change stall (at least twice the size of the regular one) , the pool was great , it wasn’t overcrowded and best of all my three children said they loved it , and that was what was important. I was a little worried from all the negative reviews but then most happy people don’t leave reviews. The rinsing showers were warm and worked well , there was a nice step for entrance/exit into the main pool at the shallow end (made things easier) Overall much better than expected , very happy :)

Beautifully cool and clean outdoor pool. Well maintained and staffed with 2 lifeguards. You can change outside or use the indoor rooms, and there's a cafe inside for afterwards. Numbers are limited so you'll need to book well in advance by setting up an online account for each person, and there is a waiting list function for full sessions. Public sessions offer 3 lanes (slow, med, fast) and capacity is per lane. Despite the hassle of setting up an account and the somewhat curt receptionist, the swimming experience is very relaxed. Highly recommended on a hot day - but book a week ahead.
