Visited CARS after my step daughters car failed its MOT. They squeezed us in last minute as we were off on holiday 2 days later. We dropped the car off in the afternoon and he had done all the repairs by 0930 the next morning. Okay so this review will be quite lengthy - you will understand why as we go along. First LOCATION. it's situated about a mile outside of Devizes. Don't let this put you off. Most of us walk a mile across town to get to a garage anyway but the walk is pleasant - the roads not busy, it's worth the walk and there are no car fumes. When I chose to take my car here I had googled garages and reviews, trustworthy garages near me. The whole lot. To be told that the only trust worthy garage is in Marlborough or Pewsey and beyond is a panic in itself. So then I found C.A.R.S. - no real reviews, in the middle of nowhere, no one I spoke to had used them before. I took a chance. A great chance. Now I love my car - it's high mileage, it's never let me down, occasionally it just needs some TLC. So I took the chance. I admit I panicked a little dropping it off. Not knowing the quality of work, not knowing if I would get fleeced, or whether they would just look at me like a fat middled aged man who knew nothing about cars. I handed my keys over and took the slow trudge home through the country side. I had a phone call to tell me what was wrong with my car by the afternoon and I told them to complete the work. By late afternoon the next day I called to see if my car was ready. By this time my nerves had kicked in, "if it was an easy repair, wouldn't they have called by now" was my initial thought. "This is going to cost an arm and leg" was my immediate thought after that. I could pick it up by five thirty they told me on the phone. Totally misjudging how long it would take me to walk there I left and got there early. I was picked up on the short walk down the path - i could see and hear my car was fixed. That was a relief. There was no Doom and gloom talk about how my car was going to die. The repairs were of a really reasonable cost. And the car once again feels solid. I had googled repair costs to guestimate how much I would be out of pocket and came up with thousands. So to be told that my repair was affordable was amazing. Everybody I spoke to was really nice. And they put me at ease. Now comes the easy the part. Do I recommend the garage. YES I DO! Use them, give them your business. They deserve it and I am sure they won't let you down. When every other garage and mechanic in Devizes scores two stars these guys are getting four and five stars. They are local, they are honest, the cost is manageable and their knowledge is great. And to have mechanics like this close to home is a blessing, rather than drive 10 to 15 miles to find another reputable business. I hope this helps all those people struggling to find a decent mechanic and garage. We will call this our little secret.
