Spilt a glass of wine all over my MacBook Air during dissertation season one Thursday evening which killed it instantly. Called Mac Solutions on Friday, took laptop in to them on Saturday. Collected it fully working on Wednesday (new battery, new keyboard, new motherboard, etc) no data lost, and for a very reasonable cost. Helpful recommendations about software updates and backing up data too. Very grateful for your help, expertise, and short turnaround!
I had the unfortunate experience of spilling liquid onto my macbook air, and was lucky enough to remember to dry it and switch it off without plugging it in. Instantly the next day, I took my mac to Mac solutions in Bath and they gave me no judgement for my issue and were helpful all the way through this experience. They took it in, and rung me the next day to clarify what had happened, and as luck would have it the mac was in a pretty good state, apart from the unfortunate loss of a board which allows the trackpad to work. However, I was confident to the end that the service I was getting was quality and that they had a vast knowledge on issues such as this. It goes to the old saying "Don't judge a book by it's cover" you may not think the shop is worth the time and you should go to an "Apple authorised seller/repair centre" you are greeted with kindness and treated justly and honestly from beginning to end. Thank you Mac solutions bath, you saved a uni student In dire need!
NEGATIVE STAR RATING. Conclusion; If your tech is not an ancient fossil, GO TO APPLE to have it repaired. Their skill, knowledge, customer service and resources exceed anything “top level” at this shop. A very expensive lesson for me never to stray from the one stop shop again, and reason why I am not taking legal action against Mac Solutions. Back story; I have/d a top range MacBook Pro that was liquid (hot sweet tea if anyone cares) damaged. Process; Visit 1 - works were done to repair motherboard. Laptop seemed to be working okay for the most part. I was told the only difference between a fixed and a brand new laptop was that I knew about its fixing… Although laptop worked okay, it definitely didn’t operate exactly the same as it was prior to damage, things took a few secs longer sometimes, a fan would occasionally be very loud. Visit 2 - Few months have passed and the keyboard started to get extremely crunchy. Took it in to be replaced……….. Result; Fans sound louder than a tractor, battery doesn’t charge, Mac holds no charge, keyboard has no back light, keyboard misses out letters upon typing (really handy with passwords) laptop doesn’t shut down but takes that command to restart and doesn’t switch on when being opened. MY LAPTOP IS RUINED. Apple specialist: LAPTOP RATTLES, charging ports do not work, replaced battery and keyboard are third party. Verdict: all this can be fixed easily, BUT they can’t guarantee that there is no further damage caused by this shop inside the laptop. Other notes; Customer service was shocking I had to chase the progress myself, there was no transparency - it became evident that this job was far beyond their skill level, yet they proceeded to take time, ruin the machine and showed no signs of ownership or apologies. Acted surprise when full refund was requested, and actually suggested that I, WHO HAS PAID £1000+ FOR THE SERVICE, SHOULD FEEL SORRY FOR THEM FOR THE AMOUNT OF STRESS THIS JOB HAS CASUED. I will not only NOT RECOMMEND this shop but will avoid the street it’s located on in my future Bath outings.
Knowledgeable and friendly service. MacBook Pro faulty graphics card was replaced and returned within 48 hrs. Quoted repair price (inc.labour) matched the end bill, so no hidden surprises and very reasonable/cheap compared to an Apple fix. No hesitation for recommending the repair service.
Absolutely amazing service!! My 10 year old MacBook is now running like a dream!! Thanks to Alex & his expertise, all issues fixed quickly & efficiently!! Could not be happier.. Especially as data was not backed up!! If I hadn’t found Mac solutions all my work would have been lost! Beyond grateful!! So glad to find a reliable, professional company I can trust!! Accidentally spilt a coffee on my apple macbook Pro, unfortunately I came to these guys last, after wasting a month with two other companies trying to get my macbook fixed these guys worked a miracle and fixed it the same day. So impressed. Brilliant service.
