Just under two years ago Gloucester Road gearboxes repaired my gearbox and fitted a new clutch, dual mass flywheel etc. for a cost of £1524. I was given a one year or 12,000 miles warranty whichever came first. I have now done 8000 miles( within the 12000 miles warranty) and the clutch is making a noise. Gloucester Road gearboxes have assessed it and believe that a new Dual Mass Flywheel is needed(does this mean the original one was faulty and not fit for purpose?) with a price of £1038 to replace it. I was told that their suppliers only give them a one year warranty on parts, but why should I have to pay labour charges again when it is not my issue? I am not impressed by their lack of help, poor Customer Service and the attitude of 'its not our problem, its down to our suppliers' I do not intend paying the £1038 to GRGB as I could have the same issue in a couple of years time and they will want another £1000 plus. I will find a different, more Customer conscious garage!!

Having to talk to garages sparks all kinds of anxiety because I don’t understand the first thing about cars. GRGB were very clear from the get go (Jo) was a delight and broke down the costs into best/middle and worst case scenario. Even I understood it! Turns out I was best case and the cherry on top was that they spotted something the previous garage hadn’t quite completed. My gearbox is soooo smooth! Love it! I highly recommend and these guys were recommended to me by 3 other garages.. I think that says a lot. Ps the mechanics were also very easy to chat to.

Just brilliant! Staff members are friendly, helpful and informative… always seem to be willing go put themselves out to assist. In my case, I dealt mostly with Mark who was absolutely great. My situation was pretty complicated because I’d only had the car just over a week when the clutch developed a fault. The car vendor agreed to pay the lions share of the bill while I was willing to contribute some of the cost. Mark had to keep in touch with both parties which undoubtedly wasted time, but he never complained! Job was done in less time than expected, price as forecast, communication was excellent and quality of work first class. In every respect this company is worthy of five stars.

My clutch went a few days ago and I was really lucky that Gloucester Road Gearboxes had space to take my car. They originally told me they wouldn't be able to take a look at it until the following week yet they call me the next day and said it would be ready to pick up the day after! When I picked it up I drove the car and some things didn't feel right so I brought it back, they had a look at it straight away and fixed what was wrong. Since it's been driving smoothly! The staff was very kind and helpful. And price wise I believe very reasonable and actually really good for the quality and speed of the work. Would absolutely recommend!

I thought the guys at the garage were lovely, very friendly, and very accommodating. I had originally forgotten my appointment, however the garage was willing to let me drop the car off and they fit it in where they could. I really appreciated this and I will definitely be using them again.

I’d recently bought a second hand car and had some concerns about some noises coming from the gearbox/transmission. Popped into the garage and booked it in for diagnosis the following week. I dropped it off at 8am and they called me back at 9am to tell me everything was ok. I went to pick it up that evening expecting to pay £45 but there was no charge. So after fearing a near £2000 bill and a large credit card bill I came away no worse off and faith in humanity at a new high! If I’ve got any gearbox /transmission issues in the future I won’t hesitate - I’ll be right back!

I was advised in the strongest terms by my trusted local garage to use Glos' Rd Gearboxes (not on Gloucester Rd btw) , with the words "They may not be the cheapest, but they are the best". I am so glad I took the advice. Initial impression - it is a very professional setup. From initial phone calls to collecting my car, interactions with me were very polite, professional and non-patronising. I was loaned a car which was very much appreciated, as my own car is my mobility. Having collected my car following the main repair, I immediately noted an additional fault. This transpired to be nothing whatsoever to do with the gearbox, but they fixed it anyway (yes loan car offered again). I cannot rate them highly enough.
