   You won’t find anywhere better if you’re looking for adult lessons. I’ve been shown so much patience and I’ve come a long long way from someone who was terrified to even get in the water. The staff actually care and a laugh at the same time. Tom has helped so much recently, patient and knows how I learn, thanks Tom :) Mel’s been a babe, understanding what I need and making things work so I can achieve my goal (changes all the time), cheering me on too, thanks Mel!

   My daughter loves attending swimming lessons at first strokes and has progressed really well. She is currently taught by Tom and he spends time perfecting her technique to help her improve further. We would recommend first strokes to anyone!

   Absolutely fantastic and friendly team. I am especially grateful to Tom who teaches my son H - he is so patient and makes such an effort to make him feel comfortable which has really built his confidence in the pool. When he started he wouldn’t even get in the pool, now he is always excited for his swimming lessons! Would highly recommend, thank you.

   We love first strokes! From the moment we walked through the door to be greeted by Linda on reception who is fantastic, to the teachers. Our son has been attending for just over a year and has come on leaps and bounds so far. The classes run all year round so you don’t have any breaks. Changing rooms and facilities are all lovely. Sean was brilliant in the parent and child classes and now he has moved into Turtles and is getting along brilliantly with Fred as his teacher. We will be bringing our baby daughter in the very near future!

   We have been coming to First Strokes for a number of years. There have been ups and downs with staff changes, a few times staff have not turned up to their scheduled lessons, sometimes classes have been cancelled at the last minute due to the temperature of the pool or chlorine levels, or issues with the heating, sometimes the showers are cold, issues with Direct Debits going out or class make-ups … when it’s good, it’s good, when it’s bad, it’s really bad! Recently our son was moved up a class, which he was delighted about, only to be told the following week, he wasn’t ready and would need to go back down a level. As you can imagine, this knocked his confidence horribly and we are now working to build that up again. The teachers have, generally, been excellent and Management are nice and encouraging of the children, but with so many staff changes over the last 12 months, it’s been disappointing. The changing rooms could also do with a proper deep clean. It is good for convenience and parking if you are local to Billericay.

   Really gone downhill since change in management. Pool is never heated and little ones leave lessons with blue lips. No resolutions and no way to get refunds for unused lessons if it has been prepayed.

   A shaky start last year with staffing which was a shame because the staff are great. A year on and this has settled down. The staff are still great and my children love their lessons again. Would definitely recommend Billericay club.

   I can't recommend First Strokes enough! I have decided to go from a complete non swimmer to swimming 5k for charity. The training and support have been incredible. Professional and always friendly. I never feel silly, only ever encouraged. If you are thinking of swimming lessons, look no further. The facilities are clean too.
