Amazing, comfortable and relaxing stay. Everything needed was provided and at first I thought that lack of WiFi would be an issue for me...but it wasn't, infact it enhanced my stay. As an avid walker it's in great proximity to the park, Cotswold way etc...I will definitely be back in the future. Loved it

Gatekeepers lodge was a great place for a quiet, romantic getaway. The location was great in a small village within a 5 minute walking distance from Dyrham Park and a 15 minute drive from Bath. It has everything you need for cooking (including coffee), is very clean and very modern with a sonos system in each room. Highly recommended!

We stayed here in march 2020 and had a wonderful time, Dyrham is a beautiful little place, we loved the peacefulness and nature, and the horses being riden past the front door. The cottage is really well done, really clean and everything is to a quality standard, excellent parking for our MG too. Loved the wood burner and the little kitchen. Whilst here we visited the adjacent Dyrham park, and did some day trips to Castle Combe, Badminton and Bath. We also went to the market town of Chipping Sodbury that had lots of pubs and cafes, and a Waitrose. looking forward to staying again!

Reviewed 3 August 2020 A Magical Travel Experience If two of you plan to escape to this stunning part of South Gloucestershire, the Gatekeepers Lodge is thee place to stay. The property has recently been renovated in and out to a very high standard. The use of a limited space has been well thought out, with tasteful decoration and furnishings throughout. The nod to Art Deco was a terrific touch. It is situated in a very peaceful village; is spotlessly clean; and provides a comfortable bed and linen to rival any high end hotel. The availability of a rain shower, log fire burner, well equipped modern kitchen, flat screen TV, underfloor heating and superior sound system were all very much welcomed. The continental breakfast, with freshly baked croissants, was delicious. Outside the garden is immaculately kept with a good sized dining area, parking for two vehicles and a cozy courtyard. There are several suggested walks included in a comprehensive 'welcome pack'. Alternatively, the Lodge is a matter of minutes away from the outstanding National Trust's Dyrham Park. The refined spa city of Bath is also close by, as well as other local attractions including 'The Bull' at Hinton if you have a hearty appetite. The Lodge is quirky, bijou, and unique. It is accommodation that we appreciated and will return to, having never experienced it before during years of travelling. The location is idyllic. This is a beautiful part of the United Kingdom. We would return in a breath. ' Don't leave Dyrham without experiencing the Gatekeepers Lodge. A magical travel experience '.

The Gatekeepers Lodge provided me with the perfect accommodation. Adjacent to Dyrham Park, the property is private, extremely well presented, and sits on a country lane among beautiful old growth trees, public walkways, and is. The lodge and its grounds were recently updated to high standards. One can hear lovely birdsong in the morning and afternoon. It is small but every inch the building is adorned with tasteful decore and excellent workmanship retaining the character of this Grade II Listed building. The Lodge has two-foot walls, a lovely private courtyard, and a great upper garden. With modern oven and cooking hobs, an wall television with Freeview, and Boise sound system throughout the building. There is no internet or microwave. I was able to link to my cell phone and use my laptop for most things. Not having internet was actually quite nice, as I spent more time relaxing reading, walking, and enjoying the comforts of the lodge. The bed and bedding were very comfortable and ample linens were provided. The welcome package was much appreciated. There is a small fridge in the unit and a large one is provided in the shed above the garden. The owner replied promptly when I had questions. This is the perfect place for a weekend retreat for a couple or an individual who relishes peace, long walks, or cycling. Or for someone that enjoys visiting National Trust properties and their well-appointed gardens. Dyrham Park itself has beautifully landscaped and well-kept gardens, herds of deer, and great walks. If you want a taste of city life Bristol and Bath are about 15 minutes away. Lower Woods Nature/Wildlife Reserve is about 20 minutes away by car. There you will find ancient woods, rare species of plants and insects, and dazzling views from the outlook. Thank you Jay for having me as your guest. It was perfect for my needs and I hope to comeback with my husband.
