The highlight of a walk around the Orpington / St Mary Cray area, Priory Gardens can be included as a conclusion to a walk along the River Cray. There is a great variety of formal and informal areas within the gardens, and several impressive water features.

A lovely old building and grounds with a park, playgroundz ponds and a little ornamental waterfall. There's a little coffee shop at the end of the ponds with DELICIOUS coffee

Dating back to the C13 and in 1952 converted to a public park, the recorded history here doesnβt read as particularly riveting. Surprisingly granted Grade II Listed status as noteworthy owing to some residual legacy fabric and the early C20 formal garden settings laid out by acknowledged gardening aficionados. Admittedly Iβm no horticultural expert but I do like a pleasant garden ( now donβt we all ) and these themed gardens are undeniably attractive -Iβve seen a few in my time - but only moderately so. The irregular pond, playgrounds and large grassed areas are pleasant and commendable. A superior park definitely worth a butcherβs if out βn about in the locale but I wouldnβt make a dedicated trip here unless footnote/marginal C20 landscape gardening be your βting.

It has been a while since my husband and I have been, 1980 to be exact, when we got married at the church and had our photos in the Priory Gardens. My husband spent many a day playing here with friends when young. Clean, tidy and peaceful, although the roses could do with a de-heading. Plenty of room to kick a ball or to have a picnic. The lake is home to a large amount of, Canadian and Egyptian Geese with some ducks and coots. There is a playground for the little ones and quiet nooks in the walled garden for quiet contemplation. They have converted the toilets into a cafe Very enjoyable, but a pity the museum is no longer there.

Lovely gardens- with multiple small ponds, full with ducks. This park offers almost everything. We arenβt allowed to feed the ducks. You can buy feed for 1.5Β£ from the kiosk. There is a good sized play area for kids- with picnic benches around. Dogs are only allowed in the outer circle of the park- and not the inner side where the ducks and the ponds are. Clear signage everywhere. Parking is in the road- paid using the Ringo app. Well-maintained with loads of flower beds and green trees. Payment all around for walking.

Spent yesterday walking around this beautiful park. Enjoyed all the nesting and baby birds. Trees, flowers and gardens were beautiful. Was a lovely day and seemed so quiet even though it was close to a main road

Better compared to how it was 2 years ago. Good size children's playground and grounds for picnic. Ice cream van pulled up for the ice cream lovers. I'm relieved that park has been cleaned, police patrol was on site and some other work are being done at the moment. Curious to see how it all turns up.
