We eat here fairly regularly and it's always amazing but I wanted to leave a review after our takeaway tonight. I tried the special fried rice for a change and I have to say it is the most delicious rice I have ever eaten! I will probably dream about it tonight! Don't ever leave, best food in North Down ☺️
Truly a genuine beacon of good food and wonderful service. Extremely pleasant and friendly staff with brilliant knowledge and accomodation for gluten allergies and intolerances. The food was wonderfully tasty and filling, with some of the best tastes I've had in an Asian restaurant to date, and almost everything on the menu was able to be prepared gluten free on top of being made to order, which makes it easier to customise each meal. In addition, whilst each meal is made to order, it doesn't take ages like some restaurants. I'm almost sure the coke I ordered was imported from Asia, as it tasted lovely compared to the stuff we get here normally. The space has a lovely atmosphere and the music is very subtle, the lighting is very lovely with the paper lanterns over the lights, too. The food was the tiniest bit on the expensive side, but you absolutely get your money's worth.
Had take away tonight, extremely disappointing. Pad Thai chicken was awful, too sweet and congealed, also think they gave us the vegetarian option (joking) as it was difficult finding one piece of chicken. Massaman beef again lacking any substantial pieces of beef and very watery. Could not eat it awful, better to get a microwave meal from Tescos.
Had a lovely lunch here after walking along the coast from Helen's Bay. The food was delicious and well presented. It's bring your own wine which is always a bonus. Would love to go back.
Lovely friendly staff, couldn't help us anymore. The food is nice but a little overpriced for what it was. The chicken satay skewers were dry but the sauce was nice. The other food was nice with the nasi goreng special being my preferred meal. But most annoyingly was their 5quid deposit for each person in the booking, and unfortunately we had a family emergency and one of guests could not attend. We requested if we could transfer the deposit to a takeaway order, but we were only offered 50% to be transferred to the takeaway. I understand it is in the term and conditions, but the restaurant was empty at 5pm so they would not have lost any business. Disappointing they couldn't transfer the whole amount considering the situation. So lost another star for me. Overall the staff were nice, and I would try it again. But I would not risk booking, and try to walk in to avoid the risk of losing a deposit.
As the Bangor Marina crew, we decided to have our staff Christmas dinner this year at Tuk Tuk (just across from the marina). The food was full of flavour and offered all of us a real Asian dining experience. (To the chef - I've had lots of chilli squid and satay dishes - yours are the best I've tasted ) All our dishes were served promptly and with a smile The service was exemplary. A very sincere thanks from all of us, we had a most enjoyable evening - a Christmas staff party to remember. Thank you, we will definitely be back.
First time here. Really attentive staff. Young fella called Guy was grest at explaining menu options, specials etc. Sold the food without making us feel pressured. Lovely experience, will be back
Loved the place. We had to wait for our table, but I’m happy we did as the food was brilliant and the food was rather flavoursome.
Really perfect Thai with lots of choice. Great room - very busy on the weekend so go on a week day if you want something more romantic! The Pad Thai (quite spicy) and Massaman curries were fresh and tasty all with option of chicken prawn or beef. We also had the Thai crispy shredded beef - an absolute must. Crunchy sticky and a little bit spicy. It's BYO so come prepared with your own beer or wine.
