   So it turns out that Bao buns and dressed fries are the perfect lunch! Teriyaki beef brisket Bao and kimchi fries really hit the spot! My daughter had crispy chicken Bao with katsu curry fries and she loved them. The Bao buns are so soft and everything is fresh and tasty and the service is really good. I totally recommend it!

   What a little gem of a place! This place is perfect wee spot for a bite to eat, the menu is different from the other bao buns but there is so much to choose from and everything is so fresh and tasty. I got the lamb kofta bao from the express lunch menu and it was gorgeous. The Vietnamese coffee is stunning. Service was so lovely and couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough. Can’t wait to get back ❤️

   Absolutely spectacular! BaoBun is my FAVOURITE place in Belfast! You haven't lived until you have Bao! Always fresh, delicious, flavourful, served by wonderful, friendly staff. You'll want to come back every time you visit Belfast.

   Went for lunch today as we went before for dinner and it was fantastic. This time however we were let down by the service. The waitress was nice but after my wife and i had finished our meal our plates were cleared and the waitress brought the bill straight over and asked did i need the card machine. We had planned to order a coffee and dessert but werent given the chance or option to do so and felt then we were being rushed to leave and we hadn't even finished our drinks. This was around 2pm and we were only there around 25 minutes and the only table in. We did order off the express menu but still no excuse. I work in restaurants and would never be so rude to do that.

   We had an absolutely delicious meal in the gorgeous new set-up! The duck and chicken baos were so tasty and fresh, a gorgeous atmosphere and our waiters were fab. Chris and Jeff were so friendly and passionate about the new set up which was lovely to see, and they provided a welcoming, efficient service. Would really recommend and will definitely be back.    Since opening its doors last year in Ballyhack, BaoBun has become synonymous with high quality Taiwanese Street Food serving fantastic, fresh sharing plates, dressed fries, rice dishes, soups, burgers and the ultimate sandwich: steamed, pillowy Bao packed with delicious flavours and fillings. And since January, the reinvented “BaoBun Deluxe” features an exciting new menu, table service, a terrific drinks list, and great options for vegans & vegetarians. All ingredients are cooked, steamed, baked, & pickled in-house. The new interior is stunning. Fabulous artwork by local artist Codo, in rich reds and striking blacks, gives the restaurant a warm, contemporary feel, accompanied by a playlist which was completely up our street. There’s also a great little heated terrace so you can enjoy al fresco dining with your furry friends! We started our lunch with a couple of clever twists on traditional cocktails; a spicy Kimchi Cosmo, and a smooth Vietnamese Espresso Martini. We ordered a selection of dishes to share, including crunchy Popcorn Cauliflower with a Ponzu dipping sauce, tender Tempura Crispy Squid with wasabi tartar, and a refreshing Chilli Soy Cucumber Sesame Salad which all complemented each other perfectly. The Bao are phenomenally good; light cushions of steamed dough, filled with a variety of temptingly tasty fillings. The Roast Duck Bao was a hoisin, cucumber & scallion delight. Even the burgers are a unique take on the traditional, featuring lightly toasted sesame Bao Buns. We went for the Panko Halloumi with slaw and a chilli mango chutney: crispy, cheesy and satisfying. Watch out for exciting new developments at Bao Bun Deluxe, including Deluxe Sharing Platters for 2, served on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 17:00, a snip at £20, or £30 including a carafe of wine. And coming soon, a brand new lunchtime specials menu. We can’t wait to try it!
