First time here, decor was classy/conservative. Menu isn't extensive, I guess that means they can provide better service. Staff were very knowledgeable on the menu and ingredients, advising on complement of sides with mains ingredients. Also knowledgeable on choice of wine. Although the menu may appear slightly expensive the resultant food soon dispels and concern. While inside was immaculate, they could pay more attention to exterior. Though I guess it comes with the terriority as located on a tree lined avenue with deciduous trees.

We were staying in Belfast for Xmas and having been unable to secure a booking for Xmas Dinner we were delighted to get a reservation at The Gallery Restaurant for 5pm Havin arrived the booking person a reception said she would go to check was our table ready and we helped ourselves to a glass of bucks fizz We were advised yes our table was ready I assumed we wereeagibg in a restaurant but we were shorn into a function room with tables except for one family we were the only others in it We were surrounded by dirty uncleared tables and asked by a saiter/manager in tartan trousers open neck shirt what we had ordered the menu ad to be ptebooked and prepaid in advance When we asked for water young chap asked would we like a glass or a jug totally disillusioned we did not look for wine The family behind us were advised they had gone over their time and they would hae to leave to enable staff to go hone Throughout our visit there were only 2 staff on service A couple and child came in after us and while initially seated nearby we removed to the other end of the room The lady was complaining of no mulled wine she was advised she should hae made an earlier booking and was offered a free drink from the bar There was no Xmas atmosphere or decoration uncleared tables a definite turnoff I gave one star as the food was OK being honest if we had not prepaid 105 sterling I would ae walked out

Booked in a couple of weeks ahead of out night out. Got email the day before asking me to confirm I was going which I did. Arrived ten minutes early, the restaurant was empty so we headed to the bar for a drink. The waitress asked where we booked in the restaurant which I said yes, she informed me it was closed and had been for a while. She said we could order food at the bar, we hadn’t much choice off going somewhere else on 22 dec and getting a table for four. Took about half an hour to get a drink. Condensed bar menu not the menu we’d seen online. This was a double 70th birthday dinner for my parents I should have got a takeaway and stayed home as it wasn’t a treat for them. After two hours we’d had a main meal and one drink each. Avoid at all cost as you’ll not receive what you think you’re going to get. Hadn’t certain mixers for drinks and a gentleman next to me ordered a Guinness to which he was told they’d ran out!!! One point the young staff couldn’t be faulted just a pitty they weren’t in better surroundings

Had Sunday lunch here , food wasn’t great , service was odd - will not return We were the first table to sit in at 1pm , ordered a cocktail - was told that the bartender has not arrived for work yet and as soon as they arrive they will make the cocktail for me . 20 minutes later still no bartender so The waitress told me she will try to make it for me , I told her iill have a mimosa it’s just orange juice and prosecco should be simple enough to pour . The food wasn’t great pretty tasteless Sunday lunch . Didn’t order dessert cause not impressed with starters and main Had better expectations for this place as I saw it was well rated . Pretty put off that the bartender arrive really late for work , I never got to order more cocktails because of it
