Leaving a disappointing review is not easy as we clearly had an entirely different experience than most of these reviews, but this was our honest experience. We were visiting from Canada and our hotel was not far. It was our 18th year wedding anniversary and we were married in Italy so walked by and decided on Italian dinner to celebrate and the reviews indicate people love it. The decor is a caricature of Italy. The staff were very friendly. Our drinks never arrived. Ordered Arancini and Polpette as appetizers. The peas in the arancini is out of place. Polpette was an odd tasteless and strange texture of meat which I didn't try before I ordered my main. Mains were the Lasagna Della Casa and Spaghetti Carbonara. Lasagna had the same odd meat and just wasn't very good. The Carbonara was sufficient. Maybe it was just an off night, maybe it was just us but our experience didn't match the majority of reviews.

We walked in without having a booking on a cold Thursday. Staff were lovely, all so helpful and friendly. Thwy found us a table without any wait and we're so welcoming. The food was lovely, we even had a desert and cocktail, would highly recommend and definitely return next time we are in Belfast.

Had a large family party at Scalini's last night and have to say I was blown away by the overall experience. The food is great - not 5 star tbh but better than most restaurants I've been to recently. What really amazed me was the sheer professionalism and teamwork of the waiting staff, to the point where watching them do their thing was almost as enjoyable as the beer and the pizzas! Melvin and April were the names I was given, when I offered congrats on their attention to detail, but a big shout out to all of the waiting staff, as they made the evening very special for us. A great meal and a great experience!

Friendly and attentive staff. Drinks were great. Passionfruit martini was the star of the night. Lemoncello mojito was decent. Food was fine. A crime was committed against pizza everywhere when the "pepperoni pizza" arrived with sliced hot dog on it.

As someone visiting from NYC I was very reluctant to try an Irish italian restaurant expecting it to be sub par to Olive Garden but was definitely pleasantly surprised. Cocktails were excellent, food was pretty solid. Would pass on the Caesar salad and Margarita pizza but more specialty pizzas and pastas ordered by others were good. Service and atmosphere are what brought me to four stars.

Love love love the place Even after the first visit The food was super tasty - I had the lasagne with veg and a pizza. The surroundings were very authentic and added to the experience. It was super busy but that didn't hamper the service at all Josh... the guy who helped us with our choices etc was superb.. a great asset to the team.. Can't wait to be back...

One of the best restaurants by far I have been to, in terms of atmosphere, service and food quality - it is all easily the best. From the starter to the dessert, all food was fresh and delicious. Service was really amazing, as soon as we finished our plates were immediately taken away and the servers were kind and welcoming. The atmosphere is lovely, featuring a cozy and romantic Italian outdoor setting. We will 100% be returning for another amazing experience here

A very good Italian restaurant in Belfast. It is very reasonably priced. The staff are good and friendly. My friend found the music a bit loud,I thought it was ok. The food was very tasty. Two main courses and a tea for around 25 pounds. I would definitely recommend Scalinis to anyone visiting Belfast.
