Start to finish this was an incredible experience. From the fantastic staff to the perfect meal. The tasting menu was interesting and perfectly explained, my wife had the wine pairing and I opted for the non alcoholic pairing, both featuring some variety from the norm. Highly recommend for people who are into their dining experiences.

It's a Michelin starred restaurant for a reason. Welcomed politely, shown to our tables. Each staff was knowledgeable about the drinks or course they served explaining everything. If you go to the toilet, your area is tidied up and you napkins folded for your return. Every course is amazing You can't explain what every dish tastes likes, you have to experience it yourself

So it’s taken a while to get a table, was it worth the wait? To be honest we had forgotten we had booked. Too many drinks on New Year’s Eve had resulted in this lunchtime treat. It was so so good. From the opening snacks to the Banana man dessert there was no disappointment. The service was impeccable and you could see why the restaurant had earned its Michelin star.

We waited 12 months for our table. It was worth the wait. We had the 7 course tasting menu. The food and ambience were fantastic. The bread was outstanding. The waiting staff were great. They explain every course to you as they arrive. Our table was next to the kitchen so we could watch as our food was prepared. We would love to go again.

We waited over a year for this evening and it was definitely worth it! The service was impressive, from the moment we entered to the moment we left. Flo and Ky, in particular, we're an absolute delight and made our experience so much more fun! They're a credit to the team! The food itself was exceptional and every dish (as part of the contemporary tasting menu) was packed full of flavour and exquisitely put together! It was great to try new ingredients and flavours. We opted to try Tom's infamous 'No Ordinary Schoolboy' dessert too, that he created for the Great British Menu, inspired by the Bananaman cartoon. It was as fun and delicious as we'd expected it to be! The dining area was relaxed yet classy, and it was lovely to be able to see Tom and his staff at work in the open plan kitchen. We were hosted beautifully with no pressure for us to leave. We'd highly recommend you try this restaurant, we will definitely be back again.

Dinner Rest Upstairs With Chef Tom Shepherd We first visited Tom's restaurant on his opening weekend in October last year. We knew we were onto a winner as with any chef coming from experience with @satbains1 is worth following. A few months after that Tom was awarded a Michelin Star. Since then it has been quite difficult to get a reservation. But we managed it in the end. From start to finish every dish served was delightful. So difficult to chose a favourite. The scallop was so delicious and one of the best we've had especially with the satay & coriander. The star of the show would be the Fallow deer which was very rich and tasty. The service was impeccable and our visit was just as good as before. All we can say is get booked in if you can. It might get a bit easier as they are currently working on extending the restaurant. If you like fine dining as we do, you will be hard pushed to find such a finer restaurant in the area.

This may well be my favourite Michelin star restaurant I have ever visited. Well deserved and I have no doubt they’ll keep their star in future. Everything in the tasting menu was superbly presented, thought-out and, of course, delicious. All of their staff are passionate about what they do and know the history of the restaurant inside out. They also know how each dish is made which is very different from just listing what’s on the plate and shows how well trained they are! I highly recommend the wine pairing and tasting menu with the extra cheese course (which I paired with an additional plum sake cocktail-delicious). My partner had a range of cocktails which were equally high in standard and innovation; such as roasted pineapple purΓ©es being made in house for an incredible rum cocktail. This restaurant and the staff have such a wonderful, hospitable family feel to it. I do hope Tom Shepherd continues to delight with carefully curated seasonal menus and can’t wait to be back. Booked in April for November. It’s worth the wait!

Booked in January for May, this was worth the wait and the money spent. The food was without doubt the best looking and tastiest we’ve ever had. I’ve travelled the world with work and eaten some of the best cuisine, but to have this on our doorstep is a gift. The service, attention to detail and the hospitality is unrivalled. Each dish described, each mouthful a new experience and even the waiting staff folding your napkin when you go to the toilet ready for your return. My favourite dish was the lamb, my partners was the Thai green curry ice cream serviced with mango, I mean what? Yes, incredible. We both love watching master chef the professionals and now we’ve experienced it for ourselves, I now get the finite tastes that go in to create a masterpiece

Had a fantastic evening @ Upstairs by Tom Shepherd, sat at the Kitchen Table watching the chefs create the most amazing dishes. It was a privilege to be there, like watching an artist doing their work, the timing and attention to detail were faultless. We had the tasting menu and each dish was tremendous our favourites were the Orkney Scallops and the Wiltshire Lamb (the best plate of food I have ever tasted) We also must mention about all the staff, what a great team Tom has got, his chefs have a nice mixture of experience and youth. All seemed very comfortable talking through each dish with us, very down to earth, made you feel at ease. Likewise his front of house staff were all very knowledgeable, professional but also had a lovely way of creating a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Five stars!!!

Incredible food, service and atmosphere. We were lucky enough to eat at the kitchen table, therefore witnessing the care and passion every dish is cooked with. It was a wonderful dining experience and was a pleasure to hear from the chef how each if the ingredients have been chosen. Highly recommended.
