Dire, that's how we'd describe the store. We called in whilst in the area on holiday long queues at check out only one open, they (Store management) don't monitor the situation. Moved over to self service which is another silly idea supermarkets have got under their bonnets, we don't know how this works. Eventually found an employee who could assist. When I complained about lack of manned checkouts got the usual 'brainwashed' nonsense 'Our customers like self service' Load of codswallop clearly this person wasn't aware that many supermarkets are reviewing self service and manned checkouts. We don't use supermarkets that promote self service. For my wife and I it's a regressive step and purely a mechanism to reduce costs and reduce cost whilst 'waving' the flag of customer choice.

Staff are very friendly and helpful and the space is very clean and tidy. No queues at the tills or at the self service. However, there is a problem. If you need to go to a Toilet, there isn't one. You have to go to Aldi next door or to The Range across the road. It's sad to see a space this big without something basic in terms of Client Satisfaction/Support. Is it because they don't care?

Good points: Staff are polite and helpful. Food and drinks taste good. Self service works well. Premises are kept clean and tidy. Bad points: Food and drinks are very expensive (I know this is more than just food, apparently, but it's not that much more M&S.) Stock runs low on particular items quite often and this doesn't appear to be getting fixed anytime soon.

I'm a disabled pensioner and Sean at your Derriford hospital M&S very kindly carried my shopping to the bus for me. He was polite and friendly.

We went in M&S Derriford yesterday to pick up some food items. There were three members of staff visible, all 3 were adjusting a display of fizzy drinks in a fridge. None were watching the store or the tills. None spoke to us as we entered or even looked up. Fair enough, they seemed busy. There are clear markings on the floor for social distancing purposes, there were approximately 6 people in a very small store and they were all wandering around, ignoring the arrows and the staff did nothing and said nothing. Again, they didn’t even look up. We finally finished our shop and as there was no one manning the tills, we had to scan our own shopping. Fine if you have just a few bits but we ended up with £38 of shopping and would have preferred to check out at a normal till. But hey ho, we went to scan our own only to find there were no carrier bags at the self scan tills. Only very small freezer style lunch bags. We had to ask for a bag from a reluctant member of staff. She produced one from behind the normal till then returned to the ever-popular staff fridge conundrum but made no attempt to refill the empty bag clips at the self scanning tills. We scanned, paid and left. Got home to find that the sausage rolls we bought were inedible - dry and grey inside. I wouldn’t even give them to my dogs, they got thrown away. Bit of a disappointment really M&S, I don’t mind paying a bit extra for food if the quality and service are better than average but on the occasion, they weren’t.

All I can say are that the prices are off the scale. During this whole "c" virus fiasco, all other supermarkets have done something to help the public, but not these guys - still holding their hands out for their vastly over-inflated prices from mainly NHS staff. CHEERS M&S!! And now, as of the last few weeks the staff deliberately hide away in the corner and pretend not to see the queue of people waiting to pay for food. I WILL NOT USE SELF SERVICE CHECKOUTS SO DON`T TRY IT. I`m finished. Food from home from now on.

The NHS staff work hard to ensure that the elderly people who are under their care have the best possible medical treatment and recovery. The Hospital has had several important improvements including essential car parking and facilities such as the M&S store, open from 0700 until 1900 on Sundays.

For a mini food M&S this is very good. I just collected a very interesting and varied lunch for 5 people for £42 using the meal deals and offers. Very good value for a bought in cold Sunday lunch, absolutely no hassle and there'll be no waste. Not for everyday perhaps but we have a special occasion with an age range of 94.5 years if you include the 2 week old baby.
