The first time a friend took me there to buy fish and fried yams, I really enjoyed it, but the second time was totally different compared to the last time, the fish was more like a boiled fish and not properly roasted. Maybe when next I will visit I will have to tell them to properly roast the fish.

I'm not recommending this restaurant because I ordered a dish that resembled biryani. For the first time in my life, I experienced food arriving at the table that I had to leave almost immediately due to a very bad smell and a tendency to vomit. Their cooking is not done properly.

**Restaurant Review: Mixed Experience** I recently dined at African Base Restaurant, and while the food was exceptional, the overall experience was a bit mixed. Let's start with the positives - the food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the grilled tilapia fish for £28, which came with a side of salad, plantain, and two delightful sauces. It was easily a 10/10 in terms of taste and presentation. However, the service left much to be desired. My friend and I were disappointed by the attitude of one particular server. Their demeanor was quite off-putting, especially considering it was my first time at the restaurant. Despite this, the delicious food managed to compensate for the less-than-pleasant service experience. In conclusion, while I would highly recommend the food at African Base Restaurant, I hope they address the issue of customer service to ensure a more enjoyable dining experience for all patrons.

Great Nigerian and Ghanian Dishes! I visited whilst the AFCON and the atmosphere was nice. We ordered the following and have rated them; Kenkey and fish 8/10 Fried rice w chicken 7/10 Ghanian jollof w chicken 7/10 As for the service, it could definitely do with one more waitress as there was only one lady working. And to please make sure customers are greeted upon arrival and taken to a table. Apart from that I would recommend as the waitress was friendly and the food was decent

Ordered food from here in the beginning of the month and it was well cooked but my sister noticed that the head of the fish had the dirts inside. I then ordered again yesterday but this time the food was terrible, uncooked. My sister spoke to the lady on the phone that the last time they had the dirt inside the fish and that they should clean the head of the fish before serving it but she said ‘no that’s how we make it’ with attitude. I don’t eat unclean fish, if some people like the dirt inside, I don’t. There should be options available to customers but they only want to run a business in one way with so much attitude like you are begging them for food. I and my sister been going toilet since last night. The fish this time smelled because of the combination of dirt and vegetable. If fish isn’t cleaned properly, it can lead to food poisoning. I drive all the way from Derby to come buy food and the lady have no manners. I don’t know if it is a Ghanaian thing but I don’t eat unclean head of fish and I believe that the dirt is part of what caused the fish to smell and run our belly. You need to do much better with customer service and do better at cleaning the fish or remove the head if a customer say they don’t want it. There should be options for customers who don’t want the dirt in the fish. Your restaurant is open to all Africans and I came in because you have Nigerian flag but I don’t eat unclean fish. You need to do something about the lady that have no manners. I would recommend some customer care service training for her to learn to speak to people.

Don't get the 'meat' option. Ever. I bought this yesterday and all I received were offcuts of fat, there was no real quality meat. Ended up spending £10 on rice and sauce because the meat was inedible. The waitress was also rude. Asking me and my table to hurry up with ordering, and leaning over my food when I was trying to eat it when she could've walked around. Service was atrocious. Only go here if you like spending £10+ on inedible food and horrible service.

Awful awful awful experience. Used to order from here regularly as did my partner as both Ghanaian but will never use again. Spent over £50 on delivery. 1.5 hours later still no food. Call the restaurant and rudely told driver just arrived. Driver then delivers either the wrong order or is missing 90% of my order! We then call the restaurant to find out what has happened and the lady hung up on us! Jumped in the car - went straight down there for the person to tell us it was the delivery drivers fault and “sorry we are closed” £50 and no food! Absolutely disgusted with the service and will NEVER come back

Omg never again The fufu with peanut full of salt which was served to kids I only noticed this morning as I was eating the rest Plantain hard as rock The only good was the waakye even the kebab wasn’t. I’ll get in touch with food safety next time they serve rubbish food as some of the foods were just warmed up and it was obvious. Do business welll don’t serve trash to paying customers. I literally could sue you as a legal person for serving food which wasn’t fit for my kids to eat. And sometimes staff are so rude they’ll say : I’ve got someone else on the line so I’ve got to go as if your order is not important. Terrible behaviour and customer service sometimes. The owner really needs to revamp and train staff properly we can’t bring the bad attitude into business. Next time you make me such rubbish again I will get food safety to inspect your food and will sue take note

I've visited this restaurant for the 1st time and I can honestly say i'm very disappointed. I ordered a £25 grilled fish and Plantain. Got home open the fish and it was covered with vegetables as shown. While eating the tail of the fish, I noticed the whole middle section was raw. I already served the fish the dad and he noticed it too. I have contacted the lady that works there but she only apologised I asked her if there's anyway she can refund me she offered me another fish which will be cooked better but ill have to pay for it, I really shouldn't be paying for this as my 1st order was raw but she refused & insisted I should pay again. Eating raw fish which is supposed to be grilled is dangerous & harm the born. I was constantly using the toilet throughout my day at work. I do not recommend anyone to dine here as the customer service is poor.
