   We ate here recently for my partners surprise 50th birthday. On arrival, we were informed our table wasn't ready and had to wait in the bar area. Surprise over as my partner saw our other guests. Our starters were fine but our mains came out one by one, as i assume the platters were too large for the waitress to carry two. Unfortunately there was only one person serving us and by the time the last meal came out, others had almost finished their meals. There was 16 of us. I had steak which was cooked to perfection, however, it was almost cold when it was brought out, the chips were very greasy and the pot of coleslaw was tiny, and definitely not crunchy as the menu stated. The crispy chicken burgers came out on a floured bun but that was it, no salad garnish as the menu stated, just a chicken burger plonked in a bun. They were dry and those that ordered them couldn't eat them. The steak and ale pie looked like a pukka pie that you'd get at the chippy, not what you would expect from a bistro. One of us had chicken chimichanga. These were dry, and tasteless and the rice inside was definitely not Mexican spiced rice. Most of the food was nice, but that was it and the presentation was extremely poor. There was only one person serving at the bar for both rooms and we often had to wait at the bar until we got noticed, or go into the main bar to get served. The girl who waited on our table was amazing and looked after us well. I don't think we'll come back to eat here again.

   Should have realised what was in store by the strong smell of frying fish as we walked across the car park. Having to choose from the very limited menu didn’t take anywhere near as long as the wait for two soups (Heinz Big Soup). After a further long wait for two steaks, we were not impressed by the chips that were obviously fried in the same oil as the fish (not good). Also annoyed by being charged £4.95 for some peppercorn sauce, which I didn’t see as being a chargeable extra. The couple on the next table were told they had to move for the next sitting, even though they spent most of their time waiting to be served! Needless to say a return visit won’t be on the cards.

   Amazing food, myself and 21 lads just had fillet steaks, all of which were cooked to perfection, cant thank the staff and kitchen team enough you made our Christmas lads night out, thank you all.
