Went last night (Thursday 11 December) with some friends for the Christmas Festive menu and it was absolutely delicious. The turkey was moist and tender, all the food was piping hot with the plates hot too. Service was great from Jacko and his team. I enjoyed it so much Iām going again next week.
We went and did wreath making for Christmas and it was great! Teas, coffees and a breakfast cob! Then followed by the Christmas market that was incredible, amazing stalls and the Christmas light switch on! This pub is the heart of the community, jacko and all the staff always go above and beyond! We also love the weekly bingo's, competitions, raffles there's always something going on! Foods spot on as well!
Food was beautiful, ordered my bacon crispy and it came crispy. Daughter very happy with her chicken burger and chips. Portion size spot on. Staff really nice and helpful. Even the music was good, nice volume etc. Cant wait to come again
Went there for steak and a salad. Served along with a Latte' Good place for groups or solo dining. Give it a try. The Sunday roast is rather nice. A very good place to take visitors.. It is still an active sociable pub. Give it a try. 8/6/2024. Just had thier ; I think Best Bit. It was very nice
This was, sadly, the worst Hungry Horse experience we have had. The Steak Pie was luke warm and seemed like it had been under a warming lamp for a long time, drying it out, same too for the mash. My partner's mixed grill was a plate of little horrors, discovering plastic on thr gammon, egg one had a long human hair in it, and egg two had a shorter hair in it too.
Nice light and spacious place to eat superb service with great views of Ilkeston and surrounding area of North erewash
Took a party of 13 for Sunday dinner - food was lovely but what made it even better was the service we received...bother the landlord and the staff were so helpful and friendly they really made it for us. We will definitely make this place our go to family event venue. Thank you Jacko :-)
All pretty standard really, food ok, had New York Smothered chicken and chips, and my daughter Mac n cheese. Value for money, got the 2 for Ā£12.49 deal so can't grumble. Portion size good for money, got 2 chicken breasts on the smothered chicken and a bit of garlic bread with Mac n cheese. Pasta was a bit firm, needed a minute or 2 more but all in all ok. Very close to where my daughter lives so will definitely go again.
My local pub. Food and drinks are great and not too expensive, there is always daily specials on throughout the week. Quick service and friendly staff in a warm and friendly atmosphere. At times however, it can get rather busy and crowded so be prepared for a wait, but when the food arrives you will not be disappointed. Large carpark, play area for kids and a bar for playing pool. Just had a revamp so the place is even nicer
