Went for the first time for a Sunday roast with my dog and two friends, not only was the atmosphere lovely, but the staff were all very friendly, chatty and polite. Food was amazing. Genuine lovely traditional style pub. We will definitely be returning. Only 15 mins from plympton too!

We parked up our campervan (by prior arrangement with Tina) and had a lovely evening in the pub. Great food & super friendly hosts. would highly recommend.

Me and my partner booked a table for two on a weekday night. On arrival the pub has a very good look about it and beautiful exterior. On arrival lots of different draft choices but sadly very few wine options. We was sat down very quickly and drinks brought to the table. Myself and my partner ordered the mix grill and was the price of Β£26 (expensive side) Food was out on the table within 30 minutes with fresh veg and lovely salad. Sadly the whole mix grill was cooked to very well done, but also sadly the cuts of meet was of very poor quality. If I was to pick my price would pay maximum of Β£20 But the whole meal it self was very well presented and looked stunning, just a change of meat supplier would make the world of difference. Choice of food was limited, stake, fish or salad. But seeing some of the meals coming out was amazing standards! Overall the pubs was well presented and lovely staff, sadly just choice of meats was a let down. But an easy fix! Thank you for having us and we will be back in a few months time.

Staff were friendly as was the dog . Coffee was good but awful cups to drink out of also went cold in these cups quickly as a very large surface area. Roast β¦.weβll potatoβs what there was ,tasted a bit funky canβt put my fingers on it , I thought when it was served I had got the childβs / OAP portion . But no. My partner had 3 mange tout and about a heaped tablespoon full of swede. 3 potatoes and a bit of cauliflower cheese one floret. All the roasts we swimming in gravy fine by me but my partner and her father not so impressed. Yorkshire pudding was under cooked as tasted like pancake mix. Dessert I had sticky toffee pudding and they weβre unsure if they had custard for it or not I said if not ice cream . My partner and her dad ordered crumble and ice cream . I thought the sticky toffee pudding was nice but then realised after I poured the custard over it that the hot sticky toffee pudding now had cold custard on it . Really cold custard on a hot dessert ? Then my partner and her father found that thee crumble hadnβt been cooked. It had just had crumble mix scattered over a filling .!After a chat with my partner they removed the dessert from the bill. To summarise Nice people but something was a bit off. Service was attentive but the staff seemed unsure of everything. Like they were all very new. Also on arrival they couldnβt find the booking which would have been an issue if they had been fully booked. I proceeded to go home for something to eat . Draw your own conclusions to this. In response to owner. If I had said everything that was wrong I would have made a very poor meal experience a traumatic meal for my other diners and your staff so therefore I felt not making a scene in establishment and pointing it out to you on Google which is a review site after all would give you reflection to improve not to berate your guests for not complaining enough trying to make it my failure not yours . Except the criticism and improve that is what the platform is for. I would have ordinarily paid the money and said nothing and written a review you are lucky my partner mentioned the dessert as I feel that if you tried to do something about it there and then itβs bribery. Own the criticism and improve your standards.

So, after 12 months of hard work, we booked our annual Christmas lunch here for seven. The food was very disappointing, to say the least. Dry Turkey, Dry pork, even the fish was dry. No love or attention to the food at all. The warm sense of sitting near an open fire was only a dream, as it was chilly, to say the least. Once a year, we love to get together and spend time with each other over good food and a few drinks . Unfortunately, this was not the case ! I must say the young lady who served us was lovely though.

A great place to visit for a lovely meal and a drink or two but no driving after! Lovely owners and friendly staff!

No Sunday roast at the moment, but with the hot weather it's understandable. Large portions and good price, friendly staff and lots of parking.
