We came first time in Saltash and booked last minute a room for 2 nights. As a person who spoke with us on the phone was lovely and polite and we arrived little bit later then we should get but still it was nice welcome. The down size was the room was not clean properly, the bedding was yellowish, and the bed was like sleeping on springs. There was no hot water at all and the TV was not working properly which they said about it. Regarding everything the price was to high for that stay .

Basically this pub offers very decent accommodation for the price. It's considerably cheaper than most alternatives, and my room was very spacious and clean and comfy. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, going to some trouble to help me store my bike securely. I had a problem one night and staff were extremely accomodating in resolving the issue. There was a very loud live musician performing till nearly midnight one night but to be honest I could hardly hear it in my room. I would stay again.

Came to eat and quick drink. I ordered the gammon egg chips and peas. The peas were so dry they were like chewing on cardboard. The Gammon ham was so thin that I don't it should be advertised as gammon but rather just ham egg and chips. To say something nice the chips were nicely seasoned. Overall a little dissatisfied.

A Disappointing Stay with Many Issues I arrived at this hotel around 6:00 p.m. on Thursday night. On a positive note, the staff were extremely friendly, polite, and very accommodating. I was impressed with how they took the time to explain the fire exits, property access, parking, check-out procedures, and other essential information. Every staff member I interacted with was helpful, but unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. Room Issues & Cleanliness Concerns The first major issue was the condition of my initial room. (room 5) The bed was so uncomfortable that I was forced to sleep on the floor. I was moved to another room the next night, which had a much better bed, but this new room had a host of other problems. It was very dirty—there were stains on the sheets and debris on the floor, making it feel unhygienic and uncomfortable. While I don’t normally fuss over minor cleanliness issues, the stains on my sheets I think pushed it just a little bit beyond my comfort zone.. I don't think the fan was particularly enticing either didn't exactly instill me with Confidence.. The television was borderline unusable, displaying strange lines and distorted colors. There was also an intrusive green light by the door that stayed on all night, making it difficult to sleep. Additionally, while the WiFi was free, it was extremely slow and unreliable. Facilities & Noise Levels In my first room, the bath panel was missing, making the bathroom look incomplete and neglected. The second was physically ok and everything was an order as in working apart from the TV and the window , but I had no hot water for the first hour, which was frustrating after a long day of travel. Another unexpected issue was the noise level. The hotel bar played loud music until about 1:00 a.m., something that was not mentioned on their website or booking listing. Had I known in advance, I would have reconsidered my stay, especially since I had to wake up early to get my motorcycle serviced and travel to London the next day. Personal Belongings Taken from My Room One of the most concerning aspects of my stay was that some of my personal belongings were removed from my room without my consent. My heater was taken while I was out, and when I asked about it, staff claimed it was because they didn't realize I had extended my stay for a second night. However, this explanation didn’t make sense, as my coat, socks, and other items were left untouched. Regardless of the reasoning, hotel staff should never remove guests' personal belongings from their rooms. This incident seriously undermined my trust, making me feel uneasy about leaving my belongings unattended. Food Quality The food was a mixed experience. The pulled pork and onion rings were excellent, but the chips were disappointing, and the beef burger was underwhelming. It wasn’t the worst meal I’ve had, but certainly not something I’d go out of my way to recommend. Final Thoughts The new management has only recently taken over, and I genuinely hope they address the many issues with this hotel. The spacious rooms and abundance of plug sockets were appreciated, but the overall experience was severely impacted by poor cleanliness, faulty amenities, missing essentials, and the unacceptable removal of personal belongings. Would I stay here again? Not in its current state. There is potential for improvement, but significant changes need to be made.

Dirty, shabby and broken.... I wish I'd paid ten times more to not stay here. Beds are old, and the mattresses are very uncomfortable. Very thin duvet and pillows (dont worry though, its so hot, you wont need the duvet cover) Bed linen was clean and fresh to be fair to them. Bedside light had no bulb in it!! Bathroom, the shower didn't work at all, the bath was filthy, mould and mildew everywhere, and scum in the tub. Toilet seat was broken, and the sink only provided hot water from both taps. This meant I had to drive out at 1am to get water from a 24hr garage, as there was no other way to get a drink. Cups for tea and coffee were stained and dirty, not that you could make a drink unless you had brought you own water.. Not good at all.

New to living in Saltash so first time in The Brunel with four female pals. Friday around 10pm. Good experience. Plenty of space. Music was too loud to talk to each other and be heard but the owner recognised this and turned it down which was great. Lots of places to sit and enjoy a chat and a couple of bottles of wine. Will definitely be back.

Family of 4, beds very uncomfortable, nice large bathroom, shower broken in 2 places, not all plug sockets working.. single pain windows so alot of noise from outside..booked 2 nights but will be looking for somewhere else to stay second night

I can not comment on the Accommodation as not stayed. But have been using this pub to meet up with friends for chat and game of pool. Staff don't seem to be that welcoming ! They don't give you change for the pool table and at £1 a game it does not make sense? Beer is good and reasonably priced but there are other pubs near that are cheaper and have better a atmosphere.
