We were made to feel very welcome from arrival until we left. Cosy atmosphere. The staff were great and menu and food authentic and tasty. Wine choice was good and house wine very good. Speed of service was perfect for a pre theatre visit. No hesitation in recommending. We will return. Thank you!

Our new favourite restaurant, a proper one - the kind you are proud to take your parents to. Inside feels like you're transported to a family restaurant on the continent, with a cosy atmosphere and tasteful decoration. Excellent French language service, which gives it the fullest authenticity. It was all delicious and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend my set menu of terrine, saucisse and fromage! Accompanied by my first Pietra, a Corsican beer, finished with a glass of Calvados. Very reasonably priced, so there's no excuse not to make this your next evening out - either a date night or dinner with friends.

Was in the mood for good French food in Nottingham and this looked well rated so decided to pop in to French Living. Very French vibe inside. They leave you to it until you need their assistance… the French way! I went for the set menu du jour (all on the blackboard) for £25 for 2 courses… well priced. Started with terrine with some proper freshly sliced baguette… huge portion and I needed more bread! The star of the show though was the steak frites… a MUST if you go. Easily one of the best I’ve had outside of France. So many small details made it excellent. The perfectly cooked fries, rich peppercorn sauce, fresh ratatouille, other very well seasoned veggies as well. Perfectly cooked steak that was juicy throughout… not a chewy bit in sight. The sort of meal you don’t want to finish as then it ends! Didn’t want a dessert but I was tempted by the creme brûlée… it wasn’t cheap but the thickness and richness of the cream made it very indulgent. Top 5 that I’ve had for sure. All washed down with a carafe of house white. Indulgent but an incredible meal - proper French food in the heart of Nottingham. Allez!

Friendly, welcoming staff. Food was lovely, definitely recommend the venison. We ordered escargots, gambas, venison, lamb cutlets and the creme brulee is a must. Will return

Beautiful cosy place with a very french location and atmosphere. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a multitude of french messages and pictures. The menu is quite simple and is changing once in a while. The staff is very friendly and happy to help. The food is good and there are beautiful layers of flavours. The deserts are absolutely delicious. I recommend it.

If you want a lovely meal, in nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Then this is a lovely place to go to. Food tastes great. Lovely flavours. Had calves liver which was best ever had. Tried escargot for first time. Delicious........could have had bowl full of the garlic and parsley sauce that the snails were in. Mopped up with lovely French bread. Then had some cheese of set menu which was disappointed with at first as portion was so small. But the cheese was delicious. Couldn't have more tasty cheese.

Clean, good service, relaxing and friendly atmosphere and superb food. No parking, but near carpark, tram stop and bus stop. Perfect for a city lunch break when shopping. Menu prices vary, so there's something for every pocket. Well-worth a visit

I recently went back to "French Living" for the first time in a year or so. The food is still as amazing as ever, the Chef and staff are kind and skilfull. The various appetizers and entrees served as a reminder of the wonderful food the French kitchen can produce, our main courses were perfect as always, and the Creme Brulee is among the best, possibly the very best I have tried. We will be back later this year, and are already looking forward to seeing what the Chef will have for us.
