   Chinese was on the menu tonight, so I dropped in to grab four meals for the family. We haven’t tried this place before. The person at the front desk was polite; however, they stated that I could only pay with cash, despite having a modern point-of-sale till to process the order. I was advised to go to Maxol to withdraw cash, at which point a family member of the staff corrected them and suggested using the ATM down by the marina, as the one at Maxol was out of order. I asked again if I could pay by card and that was declined, so I cancelled the order and left. Drove to another that did accept card. It’s unacceptable as customers have to park, come into the store, place an order, and then send them on a 5–10 minute walk to look for cash as an alternative payment method. There may be reasons for operating a cash-only system; however, I would imagine the loss of custom from those who don’t carry cash negatively affects revenue (cancelled order was £35–£40). Won’t be back until it offers common payment methods advertised on the front window. If you’re local, bring cash if you have it handy!

   Got a special chow mein last week, this placed used to be renowned for it food and the chow main was really special. All I got was greasy noodles with a few bean sprouts and a couple of bits of pepper, the meat consisted of burnt pork char sui and overcooked dry bits of chicken. No prawns or any of the nice ingredients that I got years ago. Absolute disgrace, will never order from King Fu again.
