Consistently very good. I don’t order a Chinese takeaway anywhere near as much as I used to so it’s a real treat to have one now, and I’ve never had a bad one from Hoo Tak. We’re lucky to have such a good takeaway on the Top and I look forward to my next one!

Oh dear. What a let down. Ordered a take-away and was told 20 mins. Don't know what clock they use but it was way longer than that,more like 40mins. The food was not as good as expected. Soggy chips and chicken curry was like wallpaper paste and tasteless. Noodles were edible. Unfortunately not a good experience.
Ordered for delivery, told it'd be under an hour. 1 hour 10 min I call to chase, to be told it'd be another 15 min. 20 min later I call to be told it'll be another 5 min. 10 min later and sick of their BS I call and cancel. Can't be bothered. Just want my food, don't need your lies and excuses. And the thing that wound me up the most was the guy never apologised. Appalling service. Avoid!!!
Absolute Mugs!! Gave me food poisoning last year from prawns, I use to order weekly and was a loyal customer. Wait time for delivery is a joke sometimes 1.5hrs. Decided today to give them a go and collect, nearly fell off my chair when they said collect in 10 minutes, drove up to be told by the rude stern guy that he’s gave my order away to someone else, no sorry or anything just I’ll have to wait! Your greed is your failure, awful place and rude staff! Had you apologised and offered discount like a normal business this wouldn’t be an issue!

A nice family's owned business in Mapperley, which has been giving us the best Cantonese cousins in the area. Very clean and definitely worth the money spent.
Good food but shocking and unfriendly service. Such a shame. I'd say it must have been a one off so I tried a second time when picking up an order, I was waiting just under an hour for an order I'd agreed to pick up at a certain time to basically be told "we are busy, you are going to have to wait". I couldn't even leave as the man had taken my money as I'd walked in to pick up the order. Very clever man! I'll avoid from now on.
