   Me and my partner have been coming to canton for almost 3 years now and we have NEVER had a bad meal! The staff and delivery drivers are lovely. The food is amazing always fresh, hot and big portions. Can’t fault them! Make sure to try the bbq ribs they are like dinosaur ribs and fall off the bone and the prawns off any kind are always cooked to perfection

   Don't like places that ask for cash only- tax avoiders? Had vegetable fried rice and had a bit of what seemed like frozen veg. Few peas and cheap mushrooms. Not much veg at all and there was no nice, fresh veg. Plus, really salty and dry. Will not return- first and last time. Expensive too- portion was the same as Chinese that I have had before that were both better and cheaper.

   Brought from here a few times but this time they gave me burnt food. Actually not edible! Tastes like its burnt and nearly took out my tooth. Rang up to let them no. They told me the chef said he tried to make it more crispy. No offer to fix or correct the problem. Just an awkward silence! Shocking!

   The food, absolutely terrible. My family were spending new years all together and because of this we ordered takeaway. Somebody recommended canton chef because they had saw good reviews on Facebook and because recently 'tins' had retired. When we had received our order (spent about 27 pounds) the wonton soup DRIPPED DOWN LIKE SLIME, it was also severely oversalted AND IT TASTED DISGUSTING AND ABOVE ALL THAT IT WAS GREASY!!. THAT'S NOT EVEN THE WORST PART, the worst part of our whole order (except for the wonton) were the vegetable spring rolls! They tasted store bought and were wet! The vegetables inside were undercooked, we ordered the mini and the Cantonese style ones and both were terrible. Everything else was severely oversalted, undercooked and belonged in the trash. We waisted good money on this restaurant and we were disappointed we threw everything in the trash because it was uneatable, i don't understand how people could recommend something this vile. Find a different restaurant to spend your money on, this one is not worth it. Somebody should send somebody over there to check their stations, this is a health hazard. DO NOT RECOMMEND

   Yesterday, I made a large order to this takeaway because on the first day of December my family and I decorate the Christmas tree as a tradition. With everyone in attendance, we decided to order out and my sister recommend this restaurant. We made a large order, so I made sure to ask the takeaway to repeat it back to me a few times via the phone to ensure everything was noted down correctly. Upon delivery, they failed to include a few items. As a result, we rang them to kindly let them know we’d not received those items we paid for, the cashier then dismissed us, the same person answered the phone upon second call to pretend to not speak English after she spoke to us previously. After this, she dismissed us, spoke rudely and said she would get her daughter to call us back as she is only the chef… she later noted it wasn’t put on the order after being confirmed it previously, because as I said I made the gentlemen repeat the order back to me multiple times to ensure everything was perfect and correct. They failed to fulfil the order then tried to give us multiple bags of prawn crackers in the box in replacement of items we paid for. These include crispy beef, egg fried rice, prawn toast and more. As a family, we will not be dining with them again due to their dishonesty and bad intent. I have left this review to inform others about how they have acted and let us others know so they know not to act in such a way again.

   Good food, Large portions (they arent kidding when they say their containers are 20% larger than standard), food was Hot when i got it home after a 20 min walk, they were polite when dealing with my request to swap an item out from one of their set meals. My only negative is that I didnt like the batter on their chicken balls, but thats just personal taste as my partner liked them. Definetly ordering again!

   July 2020 - OPEN! UPDATED Original review: Great food, good prices... As mentioned before, don't be put off by the looks of the place, it is only a takeaway. Update: Okay, so we've been going here for a few years now and, as can be expected, the prices have risen a little (by pennies), the roads gotten busier and it can be hard to park right out front. Given all that, it's still our number one Chinese takeaway - and I would literally drive to one twenty minutes away if it was better. Thankfully, I don't need to. What keeps us coming back every week, and sometimes twice? The CONSISTENTLY high-quality food, and friendly service.
