I will start by saying Italian isn't really an option I think of when eating out. In my experience it is usually average Italian food with a high price tag. The food at Ponte Vecchio was good but I find it difficult to understand why those I dined with rave about it. I had the caprese for starter - olives are a nice touch but the tomato and mozzarella had little taste. My main was the pollo diavola - the chicken was a bit dry, potatos were slightly firm and for personal taste a bit more chilli was needed. That said - the food was well presented, hot and time between courses was spot on. The crème brulee is the best I have had - even rivalling those I had in France. Smooth as velvet and gorgeous taste. My only disappointment was, unlike the starter and main the portion was tiny - ramekin was smaller than the base of a wine glass! Atmosphere was good - not overly busy which was a bonus as we were sat by the front door and got blasted with cold air when it was open. This area needs a rethink as we had to squish together a bit so one of the party didn't have to move their chair every time someone came in. Others at the table got blinded by the sun. Service and the staff were the highlight - lovely friendly and professional servers . Liked the water bottle already being on the table - pet peave is having to ask for this. The visit here hasn't changed my opinion on Italian as a choice when eating out however, I'm not opposed to returning should others I'm dining with want to come back.

Sooo good. Okay, so we came to Tiverton to pick up a cat tree that we got off Facebook Marketplace, and we arrived to the town at around 8 p.m. We organised the pick-up, and half an hour later we were left hungry and cold in this random town in Devon. So I pulled out my phone, checked Google Maps, and decided to come to this restaurant — and thank God, because the food was so delicious. It’s incredible. We came really last minute and they were very accommodating. They sat us down and then gave us some food. The food was so good. I think my boyfriend had a pizza and I had the salmon pasta — chef’s kiss, so yummy. And then to finish it all, the waitress asked for my ID, and as a 24-year-old woman who doesn’t get asked so often nowadays, I really appreciated it, so thank you. But yeah, I had tiramisu afterwards and, okay, like… a special dessert in my eyes is a normal tiramisu. It was really good, but it was a normal tiramisu. Still, I really appreciated them, and I don’t think I’ll be going again because I hope I never find myself in Tiverton again — but it was really delicious, so thank you.

The restaurant had a good atmosphere and service was friendly and efficient. My fish starter was fresh and enjoyable. Sadly the Lasanage was a real letdown. I describe what arrived appeared more like soup (see attached photo). Overly sauced and lacked structure. This is very far from a traditional lasanage, and felt like an insult to Italian cuisine. While I can imagine the other mains may be better, I have to question an Italian restaurant which cannot get a staple like lasanage right. Regrettably, I won't be returning.

This was a ideal find in Tiverton town centre. We had been told a local pub had stopped serving food after being at killerton house for the day. Clear and tidy, staff was very friendly the food was cracking. Fast service and delicious food. Fresh and hot.

The restaurant was very warm and welcoming. Staff we very kind, the food was delicious they were very good with my moms allergies and listened very carefully to all our requests ,but it took awhile to arrive because it was all freshly made. Overall I will definitely be recommending this restaurant to my friends and family.

Excellent! We were a table of six, with mixed ages and tastes. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal, fresh ingredients, fabulous sauces, perfectly cooked and presented. Great service, from friendly and professional staff. We will certainly be back!

Amazing lunch with my wife, very generous portions, friendly staff, great vibe and music, appealing interior. We’ve had calamari and garlic bread starter and pizza and pasta dish for main course. Everything delicious! Definitely will come back!

We visited Ponte Vecchio for a Sunday lunch a few days after opening, it was fantastic. Each meal was beautifully cooked and presented a very good extensive menu choice. Service was very attentive, orders were taken quickly and food was served equally as quick. As a family Italian food is one of our favourite choices for eating out, we are so pleased that Ponte Vecchio has chosen Tiverton to open their restaurant. Highly recommend you visit, you won't be disappointed. We will be returning very soon.
