The Platform is situated on the South Staffordshire Railway Walk. The walk itself is well worth a few hours in lovely countryside. The walk is tarmac surface most of the way. The Platform Cafe is situated by Womborne, nr Wolverhapton. The cafe is the converted Station. There is car parking available free of charge. The Platform has been lovingly restored and the cafe is well worth a visit. Good menu and selection of cakes. There is seating inside and out, dogs are welcome outside. The staff are really friendly and there is a great atmosphere in the cafe. Both the walk and cafe are definately worth visiting. We will return.

Had Nice outdoor seating. Was going past on a bike ride on the old railway line so popped in for coffee. They had a car park.

What’s nice about The Platform, beyond the good food, reasonable prices, and friendly staff, is the nostalgia of the place. I remember as a child finishing a walk and playing on the platform edge before heading home, those memories were right at the forefront of my mind as I sat there enjoying a halloumi and avocado hot sandwich, washed down with a flat white. Getting started was a bit of a challenge, as parking in the area can be tight. It’s a popular spot for dog walkers and those looking for a quick explore along the fairly flat trail. If you’re already out walking, it might be worth parking a little further along the line and strolling to The Platform for a refreshment stop (I believe parking is free, though perhaps someone could confirm?). Once parked, my wife and I took our sprocket for a short bike ride down to Castlecroft and back to work up an appetite before lunch. Lunch itself was very pleasant. The menu is small but varied, and the coffee was exactly what I needed to finish off my main course, along with a slice of lemon cake. The waiting staff were super friendly and our meals arrived promptly. Thank you! We sat outside, and having forgotten my wallet at home, my wife went inside to pay. She had no complaints, so I can only assume the atmosphere indoors was just as good as outside. Overall, a great little stop. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re on the trail and fancy something tasty to keep you going.

I visited The Platform today to try out their new menu. I opted for one of their new specials - The Vegan Rainbow Bagel which was filled with smashed avocado, sweet peppers, rocket and pickled red onions. It was absolutely delicious! My partner and I are both vegan and struggle to find decent vegan options in the area so this was really exciting! Will 100% be back for more! I also had two takeaway oat lattes from their new barista coffee machine, also delicious! Great location, lovely friendly, helpful staff and amazing food! If you haven’t been, go try The Platform, you won’t regret it!
