Popped in with the family to try the breakfast. Best I've had in a long time. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was fantastic. Will be going again for sure.
We've been for a few breakfasts including this morning and couple afternoon visits. The breakfasts with unlimited toast and coffee is hard to beat on value and between the sausages, bacon and black pudding (all delicious) damned hard to beat of quality. A beautiful pint of Guinness, the bar staff are always friendly and helpful, standard pub prices not as cheap as some places but better than others. Nice outdoor area with seating and activities for kids. Good local pub.
The food was absolutely amazing so fresh and full of flaour. Staff was polite and helpful. Nice atmosphere will definitely come back again soon

Had a decent pint from here. Didn't try the food so can't really comment about that. The service was good from the bar staff and the place is generally kept quite clean. Would like to come back and try the food. Had the Marston's smooth and it was generally quite nice and went down easy.
Golden Lion has a fab atmosphere and you are made to feel very welcome in here. The drink selection is great and there is fab viewing for all sports. Didn’t know they also had a function room too x
Friendly atmos, nice vibe, traditional, local family pub design and feel. Nice pool corner and lovely benches and large green outside. The bar staff were really welcoming and helpful. The food was excellent. Great value, proper indian cuisine. We had the garam chickpea vegan option and massala chips, curry was v tasty, fresh, authentic, and the chips a great spicy side. Seems to be split into two sections, one more for just drinking with the locals, watching the big screen, other half if you fancy a more quiet sit down with food. Would/will definitely go again.

Xmas breakfast with Santa. Poorly organised event. Tickets at £6 pp not a bad price I thought. Until we arrived and are then told only the kids get to eat and adults have to pay separately. Wouldn’t really be an issue but none of this was stated at time of purchase so we’ve basically paid £6 for a seat. Not enough tables set out for the guests. Also tried to say we had to eat downstairs when the event was upstairs although this decision was not upheld. On the plus side the function room is really nicely decorated
