Went in for a MOT. Was told it will take an hour but took 40 minutes to get my pass. Had an advisory for a small problem and will be returning to this garage to get the issue sorted. Very pleased with the service. Had no issues :)
Took my car for an MOT on Friday (used the garage for the past 3 years) my car is fairly new too! We thought it was strange how every year they ALWAYS fail it first before a pass! They actually failed me for an oil leak on a previous car which it never had!! Anyway they told me that it needed breaks and disks and that the work would be 280 PLUS the MOT! So I paid for the MOT collected the paperwork and went elsewhere! The guy was appaled at 1. The spelling on the MOT sheet! 2. They had failed me for a service light being on which is NOTHING TO DO WITH MOT!!! and 3. It didn't need half of what they said! The other garage didn't even want to us the previous MOT because of how much rubbish it was! It now has a fresh MOT all the work has been done and we have still paid a LOT less!! Please do not use this garage.
Not transparent with the price for checking the vehicle. Didn't fix the issue. Took it back, the issue still wasn't fixed, they had ordered the wrong part. There was an additional cost for that. Took it to another garage. They said Star Garage had given me the wrong part. Ended up buying the correct part myself. They had the audacity to charge me for coolant again despite their previous failings. Younger guys seem to do all the work. Never seen the older guy (owner or the owner's son) getting his hands dirty. I've been a few times. Also not professional enough to give you a time or call back when the work is complete.
This family run business is outstanding. Well run, well priced, with friendly staff on every level. For me personally it's the only place I trust to take my car and and can guarantee the work is done in time good time and to the highest standard, I'd recommend this gaurage to anyone.
Star garage darlaston possibly the worst service iv ever received. its the second time now iv taken a car in to this garage and twice they've charged me over £100 and not fixed the problem, When i asked what they were gonna do about it both mechanics shrugged their shoulders, they're in the business just to make a quick wage doing services. Do Not use this garage.
I usually stick to my own garage but they were going to charge way over the odds...all i needed was a mechanism fitted to fix my car window...These guys fitted me in quick and the cost was really cheap...a great job done...polite staff
