   We were disappointed with our experience at Clarks, Newtownards yesterday afternoon. We went to get our baby her first pair of shoes. We walked into an empty shop with three workers behind the till on their phones who didn’t even greet us as we passed. We asked about purchasing first shoes and got the bare minimum in terms of help choosing a shoe, trying it on and checking out. We’re not asking the staff to roll out the red carpet or put up decorations to mark the event, but the staff in Clarks made us feel like an inconvenience for shopping there and the whole experience was awkward. Had the experience been a positive one, we surely would have returned every few months to get our daughter her next size up. We won’t be returning.

   Shoe quality is very good. Helpfulness of staff isn't always great. They tried to sell me a show that was far to small (foot wouldn't even fit in) and they said "you could put a sock on and stretch it" which wouldn't have worked as my heel wouldn't even fit into the shoe. So either they were very new or just desperate for a sale I don't know but I wasn't overly impressed by the comment as they saw that it was far too small. Never had an issue with the quality of products when I do get a shoe that fits, and the store is always clean.

   Friendly and knowledgeable staff and no problem to order in shoes if not in stock. We always use them for children's shoes, of which there's a big range. A nice, clean, well laid out shop.
