Great breakfast. Very good coffee. Fast and polite service. Can get extremely busy on weekends, so go early. No complaints and will be back again.
Visited at peak brunch/lunch time. Entered and were met quickly and the chap took my name and said it would be a 15 min wait and could wait outside. The place was packed. After 15 mins we got a table and got seated. It took another 15 mins for another chap to come and take our order and he looked like he didn’t want to be there and barely said a word. The menu was exciting with different variations of some familiar dishes. Food came after a short wait from another person and was really well presented and good portions. She was a bit more chatty. Overall it’s a popular place and I can see why lots visit. The service for me was really hit or miss, the table was very sticky and I’m not sure it was cleaned down properly before we got to it. The food and drinks are the highlight if you decide to visit.
Absolutely lovely vibe to the place, lots of plants and wooden seating, giving a very cosy feel. Went on a Sunday and it was comfortably busy, bustling with people. The service was wonderful, staff very attentive and efficient. Not too long of a wait for my coffee despite how busy it was. Will be going regularly for sure!
I finally stopped by after always seeing a queue outside, and I can see why it’s popular. The food was really tasty, and the tea and coffee were great—definitely a strong spot for brunch. That said, I did find it a bit on the pricey side for what you get, and the atmosphere felt a little off—not quite as warm or welcoming as I expected. Still, it’s a nice place to check out if you’re in the area and looking for a good coffee or bite to eat.
This is the perfect breakfast place. There is a calm atmosphere with table service and gentle music. The staff is very courteous. I had poached eggs with sourdough bread and hash browns; tasted amazing. Flat white in particular was tasty.

Great place for brunch or lunch. The vegan roll was excellent and perfectly done and the meatloaf sandwich was class. Good coffee too. The staff are the best and the front of house guy working on the 2nd Jan deserves a medal for getting folk seated and sorted. Will definitely be back!
My daughter is a regular here. Today was my 2nd visit. Both visits, I've been impressed with the genuine warmth & friendliness of the staff. We had the last 2 seats in the place today, yet we were seated, served coffee and food delivered to the table in a little under 15 minutes. For delicious, freshly cooked food, that's incredible. I wasn't hungry today, so only ordered scrambled eggs & toast. Basic, I know. GM somehow managed to turn the lowly scrabled egg into something utterly delicious! The best eggs I've ever had in my life! The atmosphere and decor inside GM is quirky & deliberately 'grungy (not to be mistaken for dirty. It's certainly not)! Once inside, it's hard to believe that you're on the main road into Belfast. Love this place. I plan to become as much of a regular is my daughter.
The ‘General brunch’ was really tasty and coffee lovely. Busy place so you’re restricted to a max 1 hour because of Covid. Really friendly staff who were happy to chat to customers. Love the decor!
Wow! Absolutely delicious! Suggestion: Go for the Huevos Rotos!!! The quality is fantastic, it's a filling dish and memorable. Staff are delightful and friendly. Oranges juice portion looks too small, however it's quite strong (clearly freshly squeezed) Coffee is very nice too Worth the wait as the don't take reservations
