   Lovely pub. Classic pub decor and atmosphere. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We were a group of 7 and sat next to a large TV playing sports, but this was turned off with no problems at our request. Great selection of reasonably priced food and drinks available too. Food quality was mostly good, although let down slightly by the gammon which was a bit soft and squishy. We had a lovely time and will no doubt be returning in the future.

   Decided to pop in for the first time for dinner and had a lovely meal out. The staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was good, and the food was excellent and a good price. Would definitely recommend to others!

   We've been here many times for the Sunday carvery and usually it's wonderful unfortunately the last time (Sunday 26th October) the food was very poor, beef extremely rare and bleeding all over the tray, when asked by my partner about this the chef/server replied she likes her meat that way so cooked it that way, the gravy was full of lumpy granules, mash was very bland, and the cauliflower cheese was more like cauliflower milk lacking the usual hit of cheese it has had in the past. The waitress who came to enquire how our meal was couldn't have been more helpful and agreed the food wasn't up to the usual standards, I really hope this was just a minor blip and things can quickly return to the previous standards of food. On a side note I didn't appreciate watching the lady who sliced and served the meat continuesly disappearing behind the bar to keep eating what I assumed was crisps then returning to her station to handle peoples plates and food without washing her hands in between, this falls under a food hygiene issue which the FSA takes very seriously, staff are given breaks to go and eat lunch for a reason, if your going to pay people to eat whilst working, can I have a job please?

   Came here again today for work.....WOW This place is stunning, exceptionally high standard of cleaning throughout, the cleaning staff here should be commended... The kitchen although will used looks like new spotlessly clean !! The Halloween decorations are fantastic this venue has a huge beer garden with children's play areas and climbing frame... Huge carpark and a carvery deck. I wish this place was closer to home cause this is everything you could want from a local pub. Land lady was very welcoming and clearly takes a lot of pride in the place. What a beautiful place to spend a few hours and grab some me time with the kids. Pool table and sports for all round entertainment. Heated smoking area

   Lovely family pub. Very welcoming the staff couldn’t do enough for you. The food was excellent cooked fresh and well presented. Having the landlady come over and join in conversation with you face it that personal touch . Our whole family was made to feel welcome .

   We had a really nice experience here. We were waiting for an appointment at Ilkeston Hospital and were hungry so popped in here. We were greeted by a lovely lady who got us our drink and we ordered food. Good choice and good portions. Fair prices too. Food was lovely and my partner who is veggie said the macaroni cheese was lovely!

   Just over £20 i was charged for these “meals” and two diet colas. £5.79 for a kids pizza and it does not specify that it is just two dry slices, i am very shocked as it is the school holidays a lot of other places have offers on but not here. £9.95 for the hunters chicken. So many people are struggling at the minute and I understand prices are going up but I don’t understand how this can be justified. The prices wouldn’t be AS bad if the portion sizes were decent. Im just in shock. No one ever came to ask if the food was ok, to offer anything else, no one to be seen at the bar to complain to. Mundy arms is just down the road, CHEAPER and BIGGER sizes

   We had a the most perfect wedding day at the Mallard! Vonnie and Colin were so generous with their time and effort; nothing was too much trouble for them. Their organisation and communication helped put us at ease before and on the day. They had absolutely everything under control from drinks on arrival, sound system for speeches, and hot and cold buffet for 80 plus guests. The pub allowed us the space and freedom to decorate indoors and the garden with personal touches. Thanks soooo much Vonnie and the team, you smashed it, and helped us have a truly wonderful time!! Xx

   For over £7 I've got to say the carvery was foul. My partner bought me a takeaway from there. The meat was absolutely disgusting. My partner had similar issues when there with friends. I will not be buying from here again! Side note the gravy came in a tiny tub, barely enough to fill a Yorkshire pudding!
