In fairness, their customer service on the phone is good (comparatively better than the standard of the website), so a star for that. Nevertheless, just flabbergasted how expensive Wessex Water is - the water bill in our one bedroom flat is higher than that for heating or electricity, with monthly bills equivalent to the quarterly bills of our last supplier. This may or may not (tho probably is) the result of years of Conservative privateering and austerity and infrastructural mismanagement. Still: it's far too expensive.

The customer service here is absolutely incredible! Every time I called, someone picked up within 15 seconds. It was so fast that I thought it was an automated response at first, but it was always a real person. I had an issue with my landlord that caused a delay in paying a bill, and the team was so understanding. They extended my payment date and even reduced the amount owed. Their support turned a stressful situation into a smooth experience. Definitely one of the best services I’ve ever dealt with in the UK. Highly recommend!

I am 81 years old and live on my own. About 50% of my water and sewerage bills are for standing charges. I use as little water as is possible but this is to no avail if a large proportion of the bill comprises Standing charges. I know of cases similar to mine where these Standing charges are not applied. Why ? Adding to my annoyance is the fact that I worked for Wessex water before the YTL era installing telemetry systems for the supply side. I work part in order not to have to claim any benefits and have this limited salary plus only the statutory Old Age Pension. It does seem unfair. Comments please

My bill is expensive £40 per month. I apparently don’t have a water meter so they charge me what they want. Another thing that has annoyed me is that I had yellow water coming from my taps, I managed to clear it by running the taps but as I’m pregnant I don’t want to drink the tap water in case for the time being. Is it even safe to drink?! I’ve spent a fortune on bottled water today!

Best company to work for. It invests a lot in water quality and care about the environment and local communities. They have an excellent employee volunteering programme.

Incredibly efficient service from Simon. Called to query a bill, confusion was resolved immediately due to his understanding and ability to articulate the cause for 2 bills coming through. Got things sorted straight away and a shining example of great understanding. More companies need more Simon's.

It was very unfortunate that late yesterday afternoon I had the manhole in my garden overflowing with sewage due to a blockage. I contacted Wessex water who were very helpful who sent an engineer out that evening to deal with the problem. To say that I was impressed by the professionalism would be an understatement. He was caring, polite, considerate and professional and Even cleaned up after himself (working till 1.00am) An outstanding service. Many thanks Clive Curtis
