We stopped here to visit the area, before we continued on grabbed a pot of tea and a small bite to eat, cheese and onion pastie was amazing, and the sausage breakfast roll was lovely too. Views are amazing, staff are friendly and there were dogs that are welcome. Great stop for walkers or beach goers to enjoy a drink or some food
This great little café was a welcome break as I walked along the South West Coastal Path. The food was well presented, as was the restaurant—someone is clearly paying close attention to detail. The view was fantastic, and the service was excellent. I will certainly return when I’m in the area again.
This has to be the best beach cafe in the area. Myself and friends frequently go there. Home cooked food. Very friendly staff you can have fun with. Today Jan 1st went with a friend and had for lunch, turkey and trimmings in a giant Yorkshire pudding (£9.95) as much as I could eat. I have been using this cafe for last 24 years.
Lovely lunch at the end of our walk from Heybrook Bay. Food is prepared wonderfully. Staff lovely and fabulous views over the Sound and breakwater. We’ve been coming here for years and these are the best owners who have put so much into making it comfortable and unique.
After going on our long hike we came upon this cute and cosy cafe, we ordered homemade carrot and coriander soup which was perfect after a long and cold hike, it hit the spot with this soft brown rye bread perfect combination. The Brie and cranberry panini was delicious however the jacket potato was dry, it wasn’t buttered up before adding the toppings and not much flavour to it, it could have been better. Coffee was nice but not strong Their smoothies are delicious Overall experience was lovely with nice views from the cafe looking out on to the cliffs and beach Friendly and welcoming staff
Had myself a double cheese burger and chips. Coffee. The beefburger was made of real course meat possibly home made and stunning for £5.70. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The view out the window is beautiful.
This cafe has an excellent location and fantastic views. They have even provided binoculars for their patrons to use as they look out over the breakwater. The staff are friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The whole cafe is clean and nicely decorated. They have a decent menu of basic staples and sandwiches/ panninis as well as offering baked potatoes with various toppings/fillings. There is also a selection of cakes to go with coffees and teas. They also do breakfasts/all day breakfasts which I assume are cooked from scratch from fresh ingredients, although we didn't try these as for once we felt like something else. (Scrambled egg is apparently an option at a small extra cost (50p) The icecream selection is good, not simply a "standard" freezer full of Walls basics. The food is reasonable and comes in decent portion sizes. It makes a good stop on a walk or for lunch with a view. Only two things that took this.from 5 star to 4 star: The kids food was served in a box (like a happy meal). Ideal for takeaway, but not so useful when eating in... The chips were from frozen chips. They were, fortunately, fried which made a difference. They were certainly hot, but not "proper" chips. The fish (for the fish and chips) was not fresh fish. It seemed to be the pre-prepared frozen battered fillets. Not as tasty as some unfortunately, but OK. The pizza twist was also a little bland, despite being pepperoni. I certainly understand that for a small cafe at the end of the high season it can be difficult to provide home cooked food from fresh ingredients but this was, IMHO, a missed opportunity.
