   Today was my second visit to the salon…being a sleep deprived new mum I’d gotten my appointment dates wrong and turned up a week early, and felt so embarrassed! The team were so friendly and lovely about it and kindly squeezed me in even though they were really busy! So grateful for the TLC I very much needed! Such a lovely team and salon! Thank you Hannah for making me feel human again! :)

   I have had a great first experience at AJ Richardson. My stylist was Claire and from my consultation to my appt Claire has been fabulous! She listened to what I wanted gave me advice on what was realistic and what I could achieve to get to the colour I required and I have say was very meticulous when it came to cutting my fringe (OCD client here) I felt very welcome in the salon and it was just a very pleasant experience with the added benefit of a great cut and more importantly I walked out with the colour I was aiming for.    My mother and I have been travelling all the way from london to have our hair done by the amazing Jo and Amber. We are always left extremely happy with the results of our hair and can’t thank them enough for the amazing service they have given us over many years! We would never go anywhere else! Jo is an absolute expert when it comes to my hair and always gives me the best blonde results that look amazing. They are amazing at working with my natural waves/curls, I couldn’t ask for a better stylist team!! We love you! Lottie and Michelle

   Fantastic salon. Been going for many years. Sarah is absolutely hands down the best hairdresser I have ever found. Her knowledge is unsurpassed. She is always honest too about what can be done, which I appreciate. There is never any breakage or damage from having my blonde done with her, the tone is always spot on. She has also helped me manage the damage I got from another salon over processing it and set up a plan to get it back in good condition for me. The products are really lovely. Highly recommended

   I have had my hair cut twice here. The first time I was seen by Sarah and she was lovely and professional. The most recent time I was seen by Jude. She was so fab. 10/10 service! So chatty and made me feel so comfortable. I was getting a fringe, which she eased me into, cut it slowly and kept me updated with what she was doing. She even gave me some free testers of shampoo and conditioner she recommended for my hair. Will definitely be back! Thank you Jude.

   Yet again the men's shop at mapperley has not opened. It's bad enough that you can't book appointments, but never knowing if they have bothered to open or not is awful. Having been using them for years I am discussed with how bad they have become and will not be using them ever again!

   So disappointed (and skint) after going for a 20 minute hair colour consultation and subsequent highlights. My blonde highlighted hair had roots growing out and this was my first visit to AJ Richardson, to have a half head done. I used a previous photo of myself to describe the colour I wanted and we spent 20 minutes, Skyla telling me how she would use different techniques to achieve that colour with balayage. She showed me a lot of pictures with the effect she was explaining, but to be sure I kept showing her my photo and saying I wanted it blonde, and if possible, with a honey blonde colour. I feel like she experimented with techniques she wanted to try which backfired. After half a head of highlights it turned out medium-dark brown all over! I was so disappointed and told her it wasn't blonde. She told me to go home and wash it a few times, but 10 washes later it was still brown. You're meant to come out of a salon feeling good, especially for that money. I called back and told her it was still brown so she said I can have a detox shampoo put on but when I asked at another Aveda salon they said it would strip all the colour off my hair and I would need it redoing after. I called back and asked for SOME of my £100 money back or a voucher as a gesture of good will, but she insisted that I could only have this detox shampoo as a fix. The following week I was away with work and called back on my return (4 weeks later and my hair is still dull brown out and not at all blonde. I was basically told NO to any gesture of good will. Skyla said its too late now and I'm welcome to leave a complaint. So here it is. I've been having them for 20 years and this has never happened before, she didn't accept she had made a mistake either or apologise. Very disappointed.

   I'm very fussy when it comes to hair styling. But Bell was so nice and understanding that I recommend her with full confidence to anyone who needs a quality haircut. She gave me tailored advise on how to look after my hair so I can keep it healthy and tips on how to style on my busy schedule. Definitely seeing her again on my next visit.
