Been going to Heads Up since moving to Notts 4 years ago, the ladies always do exactly what I ask for and the prices are incredibly reasonable - would recommend, especially to any fellow students!
Recommended for UoN students. Unlike other hairdressers/barbers, these ones do not ask personal questions, do not force you to talk and quietly do their business. It is rare but I apprecaite that they don't make their customers to confess.

Good hairdresser for a very interesting price even if they did not hand me shampoo. It is quick, cheap and better than I expected ! So I really recommend it for student of the university who want a short haircut.
This was the most horrible experience I had with a hair dresser. I opted for wet cut , i thought i would get a nice hair wash. You know she shampooed, conditioned and wash my hair for less than 2 minutes. I would just say she put shampoo on my hair, scratch for 3-4 times and it's done. And I asked her about it, she said that's how is it and she has been doing it for 30 years. now come to the hair cut. I showed her a picture of my friend's bob hair and I said I wanted similar one. She said it wouldnt turn out the same since I am not european and I understand that. But she just did a straight cut for my hair not a bob. After the cut, I told her my right side and left side hair is not the same length and she said it's the same. I just paid and when I am about to leave, I saw a few strand hair longer and she said that i moved my parting. She cut off the longer strand and i told her again, I said the right side of my hair is longer. And guess what is her reply? She said it was supposed to be longer because that's where the fringe is... Are you sure that the hair is supposed to be one side longer than the other? I have no idea why i paid 17 pounds for a hair cut that is one side longer? If that is the case, what's the difference with me cutting it myself? Please I don't know how can your staff not perform the basic cut? Hair should be at the similar length is a common logic and she can tell me otherwise? Please i warn you students especially girls don't go to the salon. Next time i will pay extra 7 pounds to go to the one in city . Even in beeston, they have similar price as this salon. Save your money and go somewhere. They can't even perform simple cut and trying to persuade you that it is the norm for one side of the hair to be longer.
