Hello all. Today I visited Zacks. I was impressed by the range of stock. They recommended an item I needed it was only £1.60, which I bought took home opened but it was unsuitable so returned it. Whilst there I spotted an expensive lock and a few other bits probably coming to about £20.However that's when it all went wrong! I had opened the packet I bought but they would not refund for it because it was open. Then I noticed the expensive lock I wanted had also been opened and then taped up in several places and put back out for sale. I said to Zack you wont refund my item because its open yet you want to sell me an item that's been opened. They were sticking to the ‘we are greedy and wont refund you’ stance so I did not buy the other items and left my opened item with them. Shocking customer service. Later I spoke to people around the town and they informed me he had a terrible reputation for his greed and lack of good customer service. There is another day shop in Sandiacre who bent over backwards to help call jaysens. I suggest buyers go there instead.

It's all that most reviews say, yes they have EVERYTHING... Yes it's like an alladin's cave. It is like stepping back to the late 70's/80's staff very helpful, softly spoken. But prices are high. Wd40 £10.00 !!

Zac’s DIY is an amazing place to visit for all your DIY needs. It’s an Aladdin’s cave of materials at reasonable prices. Zac is such a great guy as are all those who work there with him. Very helpful and approachable. 10 out of 10.

EDIT: never again will I ever step foot in this place again. I just just been in for an item I need, as I was in the queue the gentleman before me didn't have any cash, so went to use his card (minium payment five pound) so I said, it's okay, it's only two pound I'll pay for yours. As the guy exited the shop, the owner went on to have a go at me "I hate it when customers do that! He's in a Mercedes, he would have spent more!" Me flabbergasted responded "what a way to make me feel like a valued customer" TERRIBLE I come here regularly, always been met with good service when served by the younger people, but the last three visits I have been served by the older gentleman, I find him to be rude and condescending. I have little knowledge of DIY, so would expect not to be spoken to in a derogatory way when I ask a question, no matter how simple it may seem to an experienced person.

I've been many, many times over recent years, for various DIY projects, never had any rudeness from Zak or his family, just knowledgeable and try to help me with what I need.
