Great place this, the guy should go on mastermind as he knows everything. Over the years he's advised me on tiling, skirting boards and the right roasting pan for cooking duck! Anything he sells he knows inside out and good prices, spend yoirtmoney here and avoid the big superstore.
This is a gem of a shop and found that they are very helpful will be back soon to pick up some more bits n pieces
I returned to Bangor five months ago after 47 years in London and have been popping into Briterome regularly to buy stuff for my new house. David, the owner, has always been incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I've never felt pressure to buy anything and completely trust his advice. He knows a lot! I always feel welcome in the shop. David is easy-going, humorous and a real gentleman and I always enjoy chatting with him. The shop itself is fantastic, having most of the things I have needed. If, for any reason, David doesn't stock something he will always suggest an alternative place I can try. Without question, my favourite shop in Northern Ireland and my favourite shop owner!
V poor experience. Either caught owner on bad day. Or he is just a rude man with no customer service skills. I will not be back. Told him this in person lol def not a keyboard warrior. If you scroll down other reviews you'll see im not first to experience this rudeness from older gent. Prob nice as long as ur spending and not putting him to any perceived bother.
One of my favourite shops. Staff know their stuff and are very helpful. Goods are all good quality and at fair prices. I especially like being able to buy individual screws, nuts etc rather than spend near a tenner on a whole box in Homebase and only need 1.
I have been using this excellent shop for many years and have always been delighted with the service, the range of products stocked and the prices. With the centre of Bangor struggling, shops like this deserve our support. On a lighter note the proprietor is a wonderful man with a wicked sense of humour. Long may he prosper!
Fantastic gem of a shop! Traditional style service at Internet prices! Been a few times now and always pleasantly surprised at the prices. Never fails to deliver on that 'hard to find item'. Ive popped in a few times when I didn't have time to wait for an online/Ebay delivery and found Briterome just as cheap(sometimes cheaper) Dead handy :) Great job!
